Is there any way to use these without holding it on the tube? Can I use it and keep both hands on the caulk gun?

In the case of not over pressing the caulk gun, you can use them and keep both hands on the caulk gun.

I received my kit today and it came with no instructions. How can I get some to keep in the box with the kit?

You can watch a youtube video, there are quite a few out there using these tools. It does take a little experience, but definitely provides a nice caulked finish.
