Origin8 Bike Block Fork Mount

The cups for different axle sizes are really hard to get into the base of this mount. It requires a wrench - and more than a bit of elbow grease. I would expect to be easier to change these.

This is exactly what I needed. I'm an avid roadbiker but also throw in a fair amount of mountain biking so I'm always carrying different bikes in the back of my truck. On top of that, I'm usually the one shutting friends (since I'm the one with the truck) and they have a huge range of bikes. I don't like throwing the fork over the tailgate for longer mountain biking trips so I like these fork mounts there and use them anytime I'm transporting my roadbikes. Being able to use one mount for all the different bike axles out there is genius and helps a ton. I've actually purchased 3 of these now to line the back of my truck. It's really easy to switch between the different axles and I just keep the bag of adapters in my glove box.The only negatives were that the threads had some burrs when I first got them so were pretty stiff threading them in and out. After running the adapters in and out a couple times with a wrench, the burrs wore down and it's just fine so I wasn't that worried about it. I also ended up with two different style, one with a full hex adapter, one with just two flats. They all work interchangeably, it's just one can't be changed with a hex wrench. I guess they modified the design between my two orders. Those weren't even worth dropping a star though since it works so well otherwise.

as others said it needed some filing to get the thru axle to go into it. ....I have another one that is fine that I got somewhere else. Must be a bad batch. Otherwise, it works great.

Product was better than described! It also comes with a set of quick release skewers for the 9mm hubs. With all three adaptor sizes, I can use one product for all of my bikes! Arrived on time from seller, but the manufacturer needs to do a better job packaging their product. They were chipped and scratched up from shipping (not from seller). Would order and recomend them again.

First I will say this does do the job. But there are a couple of negative things about it. First, the packaging left a lot to be desired. The product came with all of the pieces loosely bouncing around in a torn plastic bag. There was no protection or separation of parts. The result was a delivered product full of scratches and chipped paint. The product looks well worn and used because of this. My second complaint is that the inserts have no way of being secured through the tube. They are threaded in but naturally unthread as you insert and remove bike thru axles. Third, the item comes with no type of mounting hardware or instructions. While this is not completely required, it would have been pretty handy to at least have a list of needed hardware sizes when I went to the store for bolts. Again - not a big deal - but inconvenient to have to figure it out when it could just be printed on the (inadequate) packaging.

This could and should be the perfect bike mount, IF my 15mm thru-bolt actually fit! I had to bore the 15mm end caps out to size just to allow it to slide all the way in. Annoying to say the least.That aside the build quality is second to none and super simple to use for multiple bikes.

I have 3 of these that I’ve owned for years. They are awesome. The adapters screw in and out without tools and all adapters fit my road bike (9mm quick release) and mountain bike (15mm x 100mm thru axle). There’s also a 20mm adapter but I’ve never used it. So why only 4 stars? Well, I bought a new mountain bike. It has “boost” spacing which is a 110mm thru axle. In other words the 15mm thru axle adapter that comes with this doesn’t work. It’s just 10mm too short. I though Origin8 would make an adapter that would screw right into this fork mount block, but nope. I found a piece of PVC that would fit and made 2 x 5mm shims and that seems to work. This product is great but it looks like it’s a bit behind the times with the lack of boost spacing support.
