My 16 months old is able to steer himself around the house with ease and push off with his legs. **Q: does it work on wood floors?** A: We have linoleum and carpet and my son rides it on both of those as well as in the driveway. I don't see it having any problems on a wood floor. **Q: Would this ride in backyard grass?** A: We did not try it in the grass but both my husband and I say "no". The wheels are too small for that, and it is too close the ground.
