Treating your customers well is no longer enough. The new rule is: employees too, have to be treated as well, if not better, than the customers. Happy employees make happy customers, and happy customers tend to be loyal. Do you spend money in advertising to create awareness about your product? You don't need to do that any longer. The new rule is: invest in making your product so good that it does its own marketing. New Age companies, desertcart and Flipkart, Uber and Ola, and Netflix, among others, are dismantling the old rules of business and installing new rules in their place. This book unfolds the mysteries of these new ways of doing business which most companies try to keep under wraps. Compellingly written with several anecdotes, this is a gripping book full of incredible insights. Review: Excellent Read! Brilliantly Written and have enjoyed reading and re-reading this book
The New Rules of Business simply stands out from the genre of business books that have been recently written. Prof Rajesh Srivastav, has been in many ways been an inspiration, mentor, guru to me in my professional life. I had the fortune of attending his classes while at B-School. And reading this book was listening to him once again in his benevolent voice (as it used to be in the B-school classes) and getting led and directed in understanding/making business decisions. This book has beautifully segmented different facets of business that a leader needs to be cognizant off while making business decisions. Each of the chapters has an anecdote, incident or a story that draws out the learning and impinges the same on one's mind. This book serves as a repository for me while I mull over business problems that I encounter in my professional life. Re-reading this book made me feel that I have access to an elixir. I genuinely feel like a Workman with a "Toolkit" to fix business problems...

One of the best business books I have read recently!
Review I just completed reading the book “The New Rules of Business” and I must say it’s one of the best recent books that I have read, covering the various facets of the do’s and don’t of doing business in the new changing times that we live now. Any business can take a leaf out of it to do well. I tend to read lot of business related books, some I complete and some I leave half-way.....but this book I just could not put down till I completed it. All relevant business facets were covered beautifully and you have done full justice with real life examples of not only iconic brands we know but also interesting titbits from author’s personal journey! I can’t wait to gift a copy of the book to my close colleagues and few friends who are on entrepreneurship journey! With Warm Regards, Simly

Reminds us that we all are here because of our customers
Great piece of work by Mr. Rajesh Srivastava. While reading, it actually makes you start thinking about each of your own good or bad experiences as a customer and brings forward the point that most important part in any transaction, sale or process is the customer and his experiences. It also tells us that making a customer happy is not so difficult to do, why it is important and how it can be done easily by developing customer centricity as a culture in any organization or teams. Via the examples given, it takes us close to understand customer emotions and what are the easy steps to create the WOW moment with a customer. A must read for every professional that how every single customer, his experiences, each feedback is so important and goes a long way in making organizations bigger and individuals as successful. The book emphasizes that how by being customer obsessed - better products, services and long term relationships can be made possible. It says silently....Let's not forget the customer and his experiences in the race......as he remembers !!! Sometimes we may not be directly responsible or aware of any bad experiences of our customers, but addressing/accepting/solving the gap and saying sorry makes all the difference !!! Happy Reading....

Review
The New Rules of Business comprises of 16 Rules. Rajesh, the author, has spent his life running companies that created memorable brands. He drives home the lessons that he learnt over the past several decades by using examples and stories. If you are in business a lot of what he writes seems obvious but once you see it laid out in its entirety, implementing everything that he is suggesting requires thinking, thorough research and teamwork. I really liked how he defined the Net Promoted Score and Customer Effort Score to measure how well your brand is creating a loyal following. I also liked how he has defined the Employee Net Promoter Score and Employee Effort Score to determine whether you instill a sense of purpose in your employees. His examples on how companies define their purpose made me go through the exercise of defining mine. I found this exercise invigorating and useful. Lastly, his example of creating an experience using the five senses instead of just providing a product or service is immensely valuable. If you take just one thing away from this book it should be this lesson. Read how Starbucks does it and try to follow their lead.

Clarity of Thoughts , Ideas , Anecdotes
I am not a avid reader but i try to complete a book every month and in most of the cases i am unable to complete as i got already busy in my routine office work and i also face diffeculty in diffecult words anyhow reason for buying this book was a Video on youtube where Rajesh ji interviewed Kunal Shah and i really like the way interview being done by Rajesh Ji. I got impressed and got to know he has written a book so i bought it in curiosity and my curiosity turned into joy when i just started to read. Its with so much clarity i cant tell you how much i enjoyed reading this book. I completed this book within 15 days even after being super busy. Most of the anecdotes are of big corporation but its always mentioned right after anecdotes how we can implement that strategy in our organization whatever is the size or even if we dont run any business, being an individual who is doing job or a small proprietorship business. Its a business book but it seemed to me like a fiction story in terms of writer has taken the reader point to point about business. I litreally had laugh on some of the lines such as (Hell hath no fury like a women scorned). I really like the end which literally gives the new vision. A lot can be note down on diary for implementation but better consider this book as reference and use it whenever required instead of taking down note because taking down whole book on a diary is not a good idea.
