Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSD Card SDCS2/128 GB Class 10 (SD Adapter Included)

I bought this 128GB microSD Card as my Nintendo Switch had filled he capacity of the current card that was housing the game data and I needed to invest in a larger storage capacity. Kingston are a brand that I have been aware of for many years and I have previously purchased their products which have proven to be reliable and great value for money. Inside the packaging is the microSD Card and an adaptor which is what I need to perform the task in hand as my PC doesn't have a dedicated card slot however I have a USB hub that does house an adaptor slot that I can use. My task is to copy the data from the current card to this new card and part of the process is to format my new card in the Nintendo Switch which completes as expected. I then placed the microSD Card into the supplied adaptor and of course it fits well, this is then put into the slot on my USB hub which in turn enables my PC to display the card on screen. Copying the data from the old card to the new card works well without any issue and when placing the card back into the Nintendo Switch everything goes to plan. Job done. The 128GB storage capacity is exactly what I require going forward and the compatibility with all of the devices that I have used today was perfect, not one issue. The microSD Card is very well made and due to this I can expect good durability long term. Again it is another quality made, reliable Kingston product, very good value.

Bought for a Switch and it's been faultless. Fast enough that game loading times aren't noticeably slower than internal storage, plenty of space for a healthy library. SD adapter included is a nice touch as I've also used it in a camera at one point. Kingston's reliability has always been good in my experience. No-drama purchase that just works.

Did the job for the camera and not expensive either

Bought this for my cctv camera, I.beleive its still working after a few years

Excellent product

Not the cheapest micro SD memory cards, but branded and so far reliable. Use them in my and my family's mobile phones. Recommended for critical applications.

For my testing, I used a Transcend RDF8 USB 3.1 Gen 1 card reader. The reader tops out at around 98-100MB/s, which is the max for the UHS 1 standard. The 170MB/s advertising is based on an alternate operation mode that the card supports for reads, which deviates from the UHS 1 standard. Currently no camera or other similar device will use those operation modes, thus it is mainly suitable for quickly copying content from the card if you have a compatible card reader. While a decent price for the capacity, the possible use cases for this series of micro SD card is more limited due to the slow NAND controller used. If you look at the write IOPS, you will notice that it is only capable of around 4-6 IOPS when doing 4K random writes. This shows that the way the NAND is managed by the controller is focused purely on reading and writing large files linearly. This is find for use in a camera or other similar device, but anything requiring you to copy a large number of very tiny files to it, will encounter very poor write speeds. Beyond that, one bit of good news about the item, is it doesn't seem to be using QLC NAND which if possibly the worst thing to encounter in NAND storage. Storage devices using QLC will encounter large write speed drops after a few GB of writing. This is common in cheaply made cards that want to mislead on specs, as they can get the massive BOM cost savings of using QLC, but charge TLC NAND type pricing, while only offering a tiny fraction of the write endurance and not having consistent performance This card seems to use TLC NAND with no need for an SLC or MLC cache, as it is fast enough to maintain write performance across the entire length of the storage. This means that the card is suitable for high bit rate video recording such as 4:2:2 10 bit without much trouble. Cards using QLC as well as many counterfeit cards will have issues with video recording as they use a small SLC or MLC cache of a few GB in order to pass most common benchmarks, but the area that they cannot cheat on is a 100% fill test as you are measuring the performance while filling the drive to 100% with no breaks for any caches to empty. With this in mind, I can determine that the card I purchased is genuine, but the 1K - 32K random write performance is extremely low to a point where they are useless for such tasks.

Good stuffs compared with price

Comprei este SDCS2 128GB Canvas Select para usar no meu PS2 com OPL através do MX4SIO e funcionou perfeitamente. Depois de alguns testes, o que deu certo foi formatar o cartão com o Rufus em exFAT, usando tamanho de bloco de 64 KB. Desde então está rodando os jogos sem problemas. Também testei o cartão com o programa H2testw para verificar a capacidade e está tudo correto. Estou deixando o print do teste nas fotos da avaliação. Só vale a pena confirmar se a versão beta do seu OPL já é compatível com exFAT. No mais, o cartão chegou bem embalado e a entrega da Amazon foi rápida, como sempre.

Kingston is a go-to brand for storage. Im just using this for a video recording, and for the price, it is great! No Issues!
