20V MAX SDS Rotary Hammer Drill, Cordless, 3 Application Modes, Bare Tool Only (DCH273B)

I have been using the DeWalt DCH273 SDS Rotary Hammer in concrete drilling work, masonry, and some light demolition tasks, and the experience has been very positive in all key aspects. The first thing that stands out is its very good power. Despite being a relatively compact tool, it has the capacity to drill hard materials easily, maintaining constant and reliable performance. The impact force is notable, which allows rapid progress in drilling without having to apply excessive pressure. Another strong point is its chiseling function, which greatly expands its range of use. It is not only for drilling, but also for material removal or adjustments on surfaces, which makes it a very versatile tool for construction and maintenance. In terms of ergonomics, it is surprising how compact and relatively lightweight it is for the power it offers. This facilitates handling in tight spaces and reduces fatigue during long workdays or overhead work. It is a very well-achieved balance between power and maneuverability. At the design level, it also stands out: it has a very attractive visual appearance, with robust finishes that convey quality and durability, something characteristic of the brand. If there were a point to consider, it would be that, like any tool of this type, it is not designed for heavy demolition or extreme continuous use like a dedicated demolition hammer. But within its category, it performs outstandingly. Conclusion: A powerful, versatile, and easy-to-handle rotary hammer, ideal for professional work in concrete and masonry. It stands out for its balance between performance, size, and functionality. Would I buy it again? Without a doubt. It is a reliable and very complete tool that performs perfectly in daily use.

I debated about buying one of these, or renting one for the day. Turns out that renting one costs half as much as just buying it, and I knew that I'd need it again. You need special bits for it "SDS-plus" but that's okay. Before I used it on my actual project, I practiced on a cyinder block with a 1.5" core saw. HOLY SMOKES! Went through it like butter. I could not believe how fast I got through that cinder block. If you've ever tried putting a masonry drill bit in a regular drill, you will not believe the difference. Turns out that I have some "rotten granite" below ground level that I'm going to need to deal with, so I got some chisels and points for this, and YIKES it just chewed that up like it was sand. There are three modes: hammer drill, hammer only, drill only, easy to select. Be aware that when you're using the hammer it is *LOUD* so wear ear protection. I've been delighted with this rotary hammer.

With the correct bits this thing blasts thru concrete. Sds plus bits are the only drawback, I bought and had Hilti bits with 3 sides and this requires the dual slot type. Great portable and effective battery durability. I had many batteries and the tool came without one. It doesn't eat thru the battery though. I put in 22 , 4" inch deep holes on one charge.

Its blend of power, versatility, and cordless convenience is perfect for tackling a wide range of home improvement projects.

This Rotary Hammer Drill is very powerful for a battery powered device. It is much better and quicker than my other wired hammer drills. It is my first choice when I need to drill multiple or deep holes in concrete. I would definitely recommend it.

Best addition to my tools for light concrete work and masonry drilling. Big time step up from hammer drill with more functionality.
