Also how do I know if it’s working? I can’t tell!** A: This does not create a new network - it just extends an existing network so it can reach farther. I gave the device a different name when I set it up (it is easy to do). For example if your existing network is called Mynet 5G, name the extender “Mynet 5G-ext”. Then when you plug it in you will see both names on your wireless device. When you are closer to one you will see it is stronger than the other. That’s how I can tell it is working. **Q: Even with a dual band router, can I force the extender to only broadcast the 2.4ghz ssid\band?** A: If you are using it in a Mesh, I don't think you can. Nor would you need to. When operating in Mesh mode clients connect at the "best" frequency they are capable of. There is a single SSID so you can't really differentiate.
