Using an Echo and annoying to have to wait 5 seconds with my current amp.** A: It has a standby mode so it turns on within a second or so of sensing a signal. I have not experienced the kind of delay you describe. **Q: hello does this come with keypads?** A: No keypads. Also no Russound warranty I learned the hard way. **Q: Do I need speaker wire adapters to attach the speaker wires to this unit? If no how the speaker wires attach to this unit?** A: It comes with adapters that uses screws to secure the wires. You’ll need a very small flat head screwdriver. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Fits the bill, but sound quality not the best *by A***R on March 5, 2025* I purchased this to replace an Episode amp, which was starting to fail. I use it to power my in ceiling speakers run from old Sonos Connects. There are limited products to choose from for this purpose. I choose this one mainly because it has individual speaker volume controls in the rear of the amp, which are beneficial in my setup. I also like that this amp goes into standby after an elapsed time that you can select out of 3 choices. Saves power, as the cabinet the Episode was in was always about 15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, 24/7. The downside with the Russound amp is that the sound quality is not as good as the Episode. It is harsher, less pleasing, which is disappointing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by A***A on May 15, 2017* Great amplifier at a great price! ### ⭐ Disappointed *by M***L on August 2, 2018* Could not get it to power up after troubleshooting. No sound equals one star. System worked with everything else except this.
