Review: Ladies, We ALL know that SIZE DOES MATTER, Quit Fooling Yourself - Ladies, size really does matter! And don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. We've all heard the old sayings that “size doesn't matter” or “good things come in small packages”, and my personal favorite, “It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it.” Heck, we've heard them since we were young adults. Come on, let's face it. SIZE DOES MATTER. All these other sayings and “truisms” were started by people who didn't have big tools. They were started as a means to cover up inadequacies and ever since, we have been told that we need to accept them. Well, I'm here to tell you that I'm done accepting other people's false truisms. I'm done being told to accept and believe their lies. I'm done playing the patsy and pretending what they say is true. It's not. I'm going to stand up and say that I FIRMLY believe that SIZE DOES MATTER. The bigger the tool, the better. Yes, how you use it matters, but if you are starting with a small, inadequate tool, you will always be wondering about what you are missing out on. When it comes down to it, in the end, you can only do so much with a few inches. It's frustrating and just never fully satisfies. It needs to be kept in a prone position if it is going to continue to give you years of pleasure and enjoyment. Yes it comes with lines on both sides, and unlike our own lines, these lines are really highly appreciated. Wrinkles they are not, they are nice, straight 30, 45 and 60 degree angles. I personally find myself using the 60 degree angle the most. I like a nice, strong angle that I know is there to help me see my dreams, my desires and my imaginations come true. It's an intriguing tool, too, having both a light and dark side to it because as we all know, sometimes you can see better when with the dark side. Just choose the light or the dark side to stop any boredom from setting in. Give it a gentle caress with a soft lint-free cloth when you are done using it. You want to keep those new cut lines free from small debris and lint so that they will heal, otherwise, foreign particles will get into the cut lines and clog its pores. When you have finished for the day, be sure to store it either flat or hanging from the wall. Let it have a meaningful rest so that it will be there and fulfill your needs the next time around. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: how do you care for a self healing rotary cutting mat?**
A: Just alittle tip for everyone.... iam a full time professional artist and Bookbinder, so needless to say .. I use ALOT of extremely sharp Japanese skiving knives, knives, rotary cutters, hobby blades and scalpel. If I cut deeply or leave a nice gash in my mat..... I just run my bone folder back and forth over it, pressing down. It takes them right out.

**Q: How are these mats packaged for shipping?  I have a delivery person in my area who is not always very careful.**
A: If I remember correctly, it was in a big flat cardboard package the size of the mat but stiff.  I've never had any problems with amazon packaging.

**Q: Do you need to have a mat big enough for the whole piece you are cutting? If not, how do you deal with cutting larger items and not cut your table?**
A: For this size mat, if you are cutting a large quantity of fabric where the whole pattern is larger than the mat you would use it the same as cutting the fabric w/o a mat, roll up the material to continue laying the pattern, after it is all laid out then cut/rotary cut each pattern piece.

**Q: I had an Olfa cutting mat and the smell of the mat was present after 1 week. How does this mat compare? Any special tricks used to fight this?**
A: It compares favorably with other brands of cutting mats as far as 'healing' of any cutting marks.  I think the smell of the material used in this mat will eventually disappear.  Because I live in a condo with limited storage space, I push my Olfa mat under our queen-sized bed for storage, so that probably helped with the odor from the mat.  As you know, you can't fold or roll these mats or they become distorted & you would have problems when cutting your fabrics, etc.  Hope this helps.
