What do you do when you need to have a BM into the toilet? In this case can the butterfly be attached again?

Practically speaking,the Butterfly doesn't attach again. I dispose of mine prior to actually using the bathroom by putting it into the toilet. It's a great product for times when you need backup - no pin intended. Good luck!

You say that L/XL fits pants size 12 and up .... that's regular slax size and not underpants size, right?

Butterfly Pads are not intended to attach to clothing, but directly to skin. Not sure how they should be measured. Got one box L/XL, they fit me. 5 foot 10 inches tall, 260 pounds, waist 44 inches. Woman's weren't available at first, then the "mens" aren't available for many months - the women's are exactly the same size, just have a different color wax pull-cover. It is easier/cheaper to order enough ($50.00 worth) to get free shipping – I have to drive 4 hours to maybe find a store that might have them.

can these be used with swim suit while swimming?

I never used them for swimming so not sure. They do stay in place if you position correctly.

What is the adhesive made from?

I'm sorry I don't know. I personally don't care for these due to the adhesive. I find these do stick well, too well! I have very sensitive skin and using these create another issue... breaking your skin down and rashes in an already sensitive place😟
