Salty Dreams and Popcorn Schemes: My Morton Salt Adventure
Review: Morton Popcorn Salt โ The Salty Sidekick You Didnโt Know You Needed Alright, folks, letโs talk about the Morton Popcorn Salt, the 1 lb 10 oz seasoning thatโs apparently been flying off the shelves (1K+ bought last monthโyโall are wild!). I stumbled across this gem while scrolling for something to jazz up my sad, unsalted popcorn nights, and since itโs Amazonโs Choice and has a 4.8-star rating from 3,090 people, I figured, โWhy not? Whatโs the worst that could happenโsalty regret?โ Spoiler alert: No regrets here, just a lot of laughs and a kitchen that now smells like a movie theater exploded. The Unboxing Experience First off, this thing comes in a canister that looks like it was designed by a retro popcorn enthusiast with a flair for drama. The navy blue label with popcorn graphics and a little umbrella lady (is she warding off salty rain?) is peak kitsch. Itโs 1 lb 10 oz of pure, un-iodized salt glory, and the label proudly declares itโs perfect for green salads, corn on the cob, French fries, and nuts. Nuts? Okay, Morton, Iโll biteโliterally. The $7.34 price tag (down 5% from $7.72โthanks, discount gods!) felt reasonable for this much salt, especially with Prime One-Day delivery promising it tomorrow if I hurry up and order within 1 hr 53 mins. I did, and now Iโm impatiently waiting like a kid on Christmas Eve. Taste Test: The Main Event So, I cracked this bad boy open, and let me tell you, itโs fine saltโsuper fine, like itโs been through a salt spa or something. I sprinkled it on my popcorn, and holy moly, itโs like the snack gods descended. The flavor is intense but not overpowering, sticking to every kernel like itโs auditioning for a popcorn cling award. I tried it on fries nextโcrisp, salty perfection. Corn on the cob? Yep, it works. Salad? Eh, Iโm not soldโmy greens tasted like they were plotting a salty rebellion. And the nuts? Well, I tossed some on almonds, and now Iโm pretty sure Iโve invented a new snack trendโor at least a new way to dehydrate myself. The non-iodized thing is a head-scratcher. The label says it doesnโt supply iodide (a necessary nutrient), so I guess Iโll stick to my iodized table salt for my thyroidโs sake. But for popcorn? This stuff is king. Just donโt go overboardโmy first batch was so salty I nearly cried into my bowl, thinking Iโd turned my movie night into a salt lick. Durability and Practicality This canister is built like a tankโthick cardboard, sturdy lid, and a pour spout that doesnโt betray you with salt avalanches (unless youโre a clumsy oaf like me). Itโs been sitting on my counter for a day, and no moisture has turned it into a salty brick yet, which is a win in my humid kitchen. The 50 cents per ounce price feels fair for the quality, and with 1K+ people buying it recently, Iโm clearly not the only one hooked. The Funny Bits Letโs be realโthis salt turned me into a popcorn-snorting fiend. I caught myself shaking it over everything like a mad scientist, muttering, โMore salt, more power!โ My dog gave me the side-eye, probably wondering if Iโm secretly training to be a pretzel. And the umbrella lady on the label? Iโve named her Sally, and sheโs now my kitchen mascot. Sheโs judging my life choices, but at least sheโs doing it with style. Pros โข Turns popcorn into a salty dream (and fries, corn, etc.) โข Retro-cool packaging with Sally the Umbrella Lady โข Solid buildโwonโt crumble under pressure โข Decent price for the volume โข Fast delivery if youโre a Prime junkie like me Cons โข Saladโs a weird fitโstick to snacks โข Non-iodized, so donโt ditch your regular salt โข Easy to overdo it (send help, my taste buds are swimming) โข Sallyโs silent judgment might haunt you Final Verdict Look, Iโm no salt sommelier, but this Morton Popcorn Salt is a legit upgrade to my snack game. Itโs funny how something so simple can make me feel like a gourmet chefโor at least a guy who knows how to season popcorn right. At $7.34 (or $7 if you subscribe and save, you brave soul), itโs worth a shot, especially if youโre tired of bland munchies. Just donโt turn into me and start salting your socksโstick to the food, and youโll be golden. Sally approves (I think). P.S. If you order now, you might beat me to the delivery truckโletโs race!

Salty salt
Didn't know this was necessary until it was. Bought it to try a new popcorn maker but now I will use it on anything that requires salt to coat things evenly. The grind is finer so it can disperse more easily on things or even in things. Tastes like salt because it is salt.

Awesome for popcorn
Itโs salt, but finer. This extra fine grind of this salt makes it perfect for popcorn. It comes in a bulk can with a pour top, so youโll want a salt shaker to distribute more evenly on your snacks.

Good stuff! So much better than regular salt for many things
I eat more popcorn than anyone I know - I buy 50lbs at a time, seriously, and go through it in six months or so. And I'm not worried about salt raising my blood pressure because since losing weight I've had to stop taking my BP meds as my pressures were getting low and I was almost passing out when I stood up. I have a large bowl of popcorn almost every evening and I'm not shy about using salt on it. Popcorn salt is the best kind for things like popcorn (of course), french fries, and other snacks where you want the taste of the salt to have immediate impact on the taste. Large grains as in regular table salt do not do that. Morton's Popcorn Salt is the best deal I've found for that kind of salt - other companies charge a lot more for it. It's as good as any and costs less. If you like popcorn, you've got to get this kind of salt. And it's great on fries, too.

Bit sweet, but extra fine salt is VERY difficult to find until nowadays.
FINALLY, i've found the EXTRA FINE grind i have been searching everywhere for over the past few YEARS. A tad bit "sweet" for my palette, but the grind makes up for that. i need to consume copious amounts of salt due to the fact that my body flushes sodium quickly due to some of the medications i take. This salt stays where i put it on my food.

Small salt! Perfect for popcorn or French fries!
This salt is perfect for popcorn and French fries! It sticks to the popcorn and blends into the butter so you get the taste without leaving salt at the bottom of the bowl or bag! I keep a small container in the car for when I stop at McDonalds when Iโm on a trip and canโt resist any longer! There is nothing better than this salt on those fries!! ๐!! When I make popcorn for my husband, he canโt have much salt, so I throw a tiny bit with the butter Iโve melted, and carefully spoon it on some of the popcorn, toss and toss, then do this over and over until all the popcorn is tossed with butter (and salt). In return, he washes all the dishes and keeps the kitchen spotless - small favor for BIG returns!

Great for all uses!
Third time ordering, product is great, but finding it could be a problem. So far, Amazon has stocked it!

Pricey for Canada purchase, but a little goes a long way. Actually does distribute well and stick to fresh popcorn.

Loose salt in the box and spewing out of the box when I picked it up. Bottom of container slight ripped

Too course for popcorn and too expensive for what you get.
