worked great
LG washing machine only 6 years old stopped working - of course these things happen with absolutely no warning and when you least expect it. Warranty expired by now so LG really couldn't do much for me. My husband and I started doing some research and found out that the issue we were having was a common issue with LG washing machines . He watched a YOUTUBE video on how to install this piece. Piece came quickly - next day- my husband installed it and we were good to go. Gave an overall 5 in regards to value for money and ease of getting item. Not sure how long it will last so didn't rate on Longevity. it's been only a few weeks since my husband installed the new piece. I would recommend watching videos on YouTube - step by step instructions on how to change this piece. You pretty much have to take apart the entire machine. It is doable though if you are handy and patient. Definitely worth it. Save a bunch of money by doing so.

Fit my LG front load washer perfectly
I have an LG Tromm Steamwasher and the drain pump went out. You can tell it's the drain pump when you hear clicking during the drain cycle and no water is draining out the drain. I purchased this pump motor as a replacement and it fit and works perfectly. I put it in last week so I can't say anything for longevity. After talking to a repair man who was fixing my dish washer, he said these drain pumps only last a max of 2-3 years any more. He said the new low-voltage versions in newer machines last even less time. I figured out how to replace it on you-tube. It wasn't too difficult. It took me about an hour. I am confident I can do it again if this one goes how.

Don't buy. Once you buy one, you might as well get a monthly subscription to replace it
So, I bought a Kenmore elite ventless washer dryer combo about 4 years ago. 3 years into ownership, the sump pump goes out. We found a Lego trapped in the impeller housing, learned our lesson about checking pockets, and bought one of these as a replacement. The washer worked for about a year afterwards. Again, sump pump fail. Could not find an obvious reason to the failure, but the replacement pump impeller was free spinning on its motor axle. At this point my wife and I had divorced, so she called a repairman. 400$ later for a <50$ part, the washer works again for another 6 months. By the time she realized there was no point in replacing the pump anymore, she runs a auxiliary hose to drain out via gravity to the back door. She offered me the machine after saving up for brand new units and I figure, let's try replacing the pump again. I've washed 5 light loads, it hasn't even been a month since install, and it has failed again. Impeller is free spinning and my washer won't drain. First of all, I'm an aircraft mechanic, so fixing things and betting people's lives on it is how I make a living. I have the kenmore elite repairman manual, and at this point, I can take the machine apart step by step one handed and blindfolded. It's gotta be the part quality. There's no excuse to make a part so cheap as to be affordable but break more than once a year. I'd honestly pay more for a more durable part. But this is the only OEM replacement I can find. Edit: I have found a reliable part from the LG store. It's amazing how identical they can all look, yet some offer warranties for up to a year

My washer is working again!
Iโm not sure how easy it was to install (my husband did it), or the longevity (just fixed it the night before thanksgiving, so 5 days ago), but it worked! Our LG washer is not even 5 years old and this is the second time the drain pump has broken. The first time we ordered the part from an online store and it only lasted 2 years before it broke. This time my husband ordered the drain pump through amazon (this seller) and it was half the price. My husband installed it, and my washer is working again! The seller did send a YouTube video after we purchased to help with the installation. I thought about showing it to my husband because I could hear a lot of #!*? and #%!* coming from the laundry area. But he managed to install it on his own. So maybe watch the YouTube video first.

Does what I need it to do
The pump went out so I looked up replacement parts, and none of the appliance places near me carried this part (all we have are big box stored near us). So I ordered this part. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace it (took about an hour) and the washer is working as it should. This pump motor is a bit louder than the old one, but so far it is doing the job. Replacing yourself, if possible, is so much cheaper than having someone come out and do it, or worse case, buying a whole new washer. No longevity rating since it has only been a few months, but we do quite a bit of laundry and it is holding up so far. EDIT: 2/12/21 So the motor went out today. Since we somehow managed to burn out two in just over a year, I don't know if it the frequency of use or if there is a further issue with the washer. I'm going to purchase one more time, and do a better job of cleaning the filter in case that is what caused the issue this time around.

LG Trom pump replacement
It took about 1.5 hours to do. Mainly because my washer and dryer are stacked in a tight space. I thought about cutting a 8x8in access panel on the side where the pump is for future repair if needed. That would have sped things up to probably 15 to 20 minutes to do the pump swap. LG likes to make things difficult. So instead of taking to dryer off the top. I removed the 2 plastic brackets on the back of the washer, slid both units up about 3in and then slid the top of the washer back 3in with the dryer on top. This gave me access to the screws and clips that hold on the control panel. Popped that off and used masking tape, taping it to the dryer, to hold it up out of the way. If you have space and slide the dryer and top of washer back 6 to 8in, you can just rest the control panel on the top but I have limited space. Took out drain panel and screws and put to side. I recommend getting a spring spredder tool for the metal bladder clamp that holds that in place. It comes off fairly easy but i had to clean the rust on the spring then a flat head screwdriver to pop it off. That allowed me to pop the bladder from the front and push it into the drum. Next I just removed the 2 screws that hold the door latch. So much easier than trying to reach in and disconnecting the clip plug. It just falls away from the front panel. Then took off front panel and access pump on bottom left. Disconnected hose clamps and hoses, popped the tab and slid out pump. Make sure you put it on a rag because is going to be wet and dirty. Took out screws and swapped out pump. This pump comes with a spare washer. Don't use it (there's already one on it) or you won't be able to put the pump housing back together tightly with the new pump. Make sure pump has a tilt to it and you don't put it back together so it's level with the housing or it won't clip back in. My OCD wants everyone straight so this was challenging to my brain. Reconnect hoses and clamps. Done Now putting it back together is easy just reverse what you did. Well, until you get to the bladder clamp ring with the rusty spring. This is where the spring spredder would help a lot. I didn't get one because maybe I use it once I figure, but for the cost of this replacement and the spredder it's worth it. The LG certified pump will cost about $40 on Amazon. That would have been about the same as the knock off pump $25 and the spredder $15. I had to watch this older guy do it with a flat head screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Once the bladder is back on the front rim of the panel, take the ring starting from top at about 2 o'clock and work counter clockwise til you get to the spring. Use the pliers on the right side of spring pulling down to about 5 o'clock while using your other hand and screwdriver to pop it into place. There is a learning curve and it took me about 15 minutes because the bladder wants to keep popping off the rim. So far so good. This was my second repair on this washer. First was the hot water valve on inside the back at top of washer. Also an easy fix but when that went 2 years ago and that I had to un stack my washer/dryer and had water dripped down into my kitchen. GET A WATER BASIN for under the washer. That will save on sheet rock and painting repairs. I think I should start stripping appliances that people put out for garbage. Could save a tone of money. Spent $110 on a control board for my Samsung refrigerator to fix the thermostat. An under 5 minutes repair. Open back panel that covered the 3 control boards and replaced the only one without a working led. A neighbor threw out a compatible unit 2 months prior. Hindsight. Good luck

Cheap knockoff part that doesn't fit.
This is not a knock on the vendor - the part arrived as promised, new, and on time. The part itself is, unfortunately, another example of cheap Chinese knock-off replacements that often aren't what is advertised. This is clearly labelled as part number 4681EA2001T which is absolutely the correct replacement part number for the drain pump for my LG WM4270HVA washing machine. And the vendor has it listed as free same day delivery - and at a competitive price - what's not to love? The drain pump seals into a pump housing and has a separate plastic enclosure it snaps into before attaching to the pump housing. I knew I was in trouble when the plastic enclosure I'd just taken off the failed pump didn't quote fit on the replacement. Then getting the pump inserted into the pump housing took a little effort. But when I finally got the screws tightened down on the pump the surface of the pump didn't meet flush with the surface of the housing. So I tightened down harder. I eventually was able to force the surface of the pump at the location of the three screws down tight against the pump housing, but in between the three screws the pump still didn't close against the pump housing. This is CLEARLY a pump that is not manufactured according to the specifications of the original manufacturer. Would it have worked and not leaked? Who wants to risk that? Who wants to take the risk it works today and fails in three weeks or three months? Luckily, there was a local supplier with the right part - directly from the manufacturer. It took me 45 minutes to get the part - which is why I went with Amazon in the first place - to avoid that. But once I got the Chinese knock-off piece of junk out of the way the OEM part snapped nicely into the plastic enclosure and the pump surface mated nicely with the pump housing when I tightened the screws down. I hate Chinese knock-off junk on Amazon. I hope I've learned my lesson. This was a useless part, a waste of money, and I lost a lot of time dealing with it.
