good basic speaker stalks for smaller speakers
They are a good flexible mounting system. Comes with all the screws and bolts you'll need for most any installation. You can remove the longer center section to make it a shorter mount which you have to in order to do vertical wall mount. The longer stalk is good for a ceiling mount.I'd like to have seen a metal thread insert where the grub screws go to tighten down the assemblies. Get them too tight and you'll strip the plastic. I would also have liked to see grub screws on two sides of the connection points to really lock down the connection. These worked for the speakers I have which are about 7"-8" and probably 5 pounds or so. I would not use these mounts for much bigger or heavier speakers at least as a ceiling mount for concern of them possibly slipping out. May never happen just something I'd be concerned about.Good mount package for the price, works for me. A couple of things I'd change in the design though.

Universal Speaker Mounts
I used these to mount the 5 channels of audio in my home theater. I use Orb Audio speakers, which have a 1/4-20 threaded mounting hole. These brackets worked great. They come with nice large aggressive thread screws for mounting to wood like I did, with longer screws for getting through sheet rock, and also sheet rock lugs. They also have many different options at the speaker side, all with the proper screws. They were worth it just for the hardware. These aren't heavy duty though, my speakers are about as small as they come, and they seemed to be about what these were made for, I wouldn't have wanted to go much bigger. They use a plastic pin and set screw to handle each joint swivel joint, and that works well to give you the friction you need to move them into place. I would recommend if you have speakers that aren't more than a few pounds.

Good for the money but...
The box comes neatly packaged with all the parts included for an installation.1) Issue number 1 : For keyhole mounting, wish they had provided 2 spacers instead of one per mount. Speakers in question were onkyos with keyhole setups. One spacer leaves it little loose.2) Anything over 5 lbs is an overkill. Case in point Onkyo front speakers @ 5.7 lbs. The joint would not hold it up no matter how much it was tightened. Thankfully for me, the bottom edge of the speaker rested on the wall and I was able to make it work.3) Excellent for surround and surround back speakers.Overall a great investment for the price but would prefer stronger mounts for the front speakers. Satisfied with the purchase.

---UPDATE---It's been five years and these things are STILL holding my satellite speakers up on the wall. They might be plastic, but they are stronger than they look. Changing my rating to five stars, but I still suggest you get them straight from MonoPrice.---These mounts are inexpensive, plastic mounts that easily held the Bose satellite and center speakers to my LifeStyle V25 system. I wouldn't trust them to hold much more though. The mounts are available direct from monoprice for about three and a half dollars a pair, so ten dollars for a set of six. I'm very happy with the purchase though, because this purchase is what turned me on to monoprice.com! The seller was quick to replace a damaged part when I sent a photo of the misshapen plastic piece, so big + for that, but with a 200% markup I would expect nothing less.

These work very well. I am quite happy.
I have a Bose Acoustimass dual cube center speaker put on a mantlepiece which is dropped from time to time when I move picture frames on the mantlepiece or when I reroute AV cables between the speaker and the nearby AV rack.Initially, I was skeptical about compatibility of the screw thread. But seeing is believing; the bracket perfectly fit the speaker and securely mounted it on a drywall using the included longer wood screws. There are plastic anchors included for drywall mounting, but I strongly recommend mounting aginst the in-wall wood stud for secure mounting. The brackets have flexible joints secured with hex-head screws so that the speaker can be oriented in any direction. The biggest advantage of this product over Bose's genuine counterpart is of course its price. Bose costs $18 for a SINGLE BRACKET, but this one costs only $16 for SIX BRACKETS.

Great Price Good Product
Plastic is a little week... I'd be weary of putting anything heavier than a 5lb speaker on these... they hold great in place so far... 3 days post install. The angle options are awesome.. but I feel editing position frequently would degrade the holding power of these greatly.Should they degrade over the next few weeks I'll post an update...Price wise you just can beat this.... I was all set to get some similar mounts from monoprice, but when I added shipping to the pair it brought the price up to these.. and these have 6 vs. 4 from Monoprice.

Excellent Value for the Money
Compare these speaker mounts to all the others out there, it works. Unless your hanging some monster speakers, this system is perfectly fine. The only suggestion, is make sure what type of wall your mounting this to. The Anchor system that was sent with the system did not work with my walls. I have a wall system that is an old type of a paneling system. The anchor system that came with the speakers would have worked with 5/8" sheetrock or thicker. A shorter anchor system would have worked better since that's what I ended up using. Just remember if you have a 7.1 system get the extra two mounts.
