It can also transform into a beasty truck which is better than before optimus prime truck. I like his sword and missile launcher I like his jet packs and his shoulders look cool and his whole body looks strong. I just don't like two things first his face is a little different from optimus prime and his sword is green when it should be blue. The quality of this toy was a lot better than I expected. Review: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Optimus Prime - Ok. This Optimus is a little different than what Im used to. I still havent decided if I like this design or not so to be fair well review the figure and not what I think about the new design so much. I will say that I think it's pretty safe to say Optimus will be getting a makeover for Beast Hunters as he is one of the only two figures so far to have a CG character on the box. So apparently he must have gotten pretty roughed up from all that rubble that collapsed on him at the end of season two. Vehicle Mode: this time around optimus transforms into a flatnosed cybertronian armored firetruck. He looks like he could be a "movieverse" version of the Transformers animated Optimus Prime as can be seen with the added detail and updated look. Optimus holds together very well and rolls great too. The plastic no longer feels cheap and is nicely colored bright red with some silver and yellow paint apps. One mod i've made is adding some silver around the windshield. This goes a looooonnng way if you choose to do this. But you don't have to. The one thing that kinda bugs me is the translucent bright green windshield. It does't scream Optimus as much as the blue or black does. Overall the vehicle mode is really cool. Transformation: I was expecting a bit more of a challenge but Im still satisfied. It gives just enough "challenge" to keep you intrested. The torso may be a little confusing for children 7 and under. I can be tricky but once you get two or three transformations on your belt it will come naturally. My advice read the instuctions first and pay close attention. The back really messes with you since the hinge goes back and fourth. Robot mode: like Beast Hunters Bumblebee Optimus looks like he's ready to open a big can of whuppazz on some Cons and Preds. I really like the new head sculpt it's nice to see a face plate retracted version. It would be nice if hasbro fine tuned the retractable mask on the Animated Optimus Prime and incorporated it on this guy.but I still feel like it would have been akward. Either way it's a welcome change. If you do want a masked version the cyberverse Commander Optimus does have his mask. I'm really diggin the "jet powered" wings. I just think back to that awesome scene in Dark of the Moon when Optimus slaughters ten cons in a row with ease. (Bay haters I dont care what you say you went to the movie you saw it you secretly love it so stop complaining about how he ruined Transformers...and if you really do hate the bayverse so much stop supporting it!) I love that scene and I hope to see this incarnation of Bigbot pull it off prime style. He is a hair taller than the FE prime....wow. So this proves that the characters have been scaled up. So... The price I can handle a bit better now.But 24 bucks is still steep. Figure is greatly poseable and believe it or not the wings do not get in the way. I've had no problems standing him as the backpack does not make him backheavy due to the sturdy design of his feet.One thing I forgot to mention, this is one thing that does kinda tick me off a little. On the box it show the missiles of optimus' missle launchers as translucent green. I actually think that would have been pretty cool as it could simulate a laser blast. But it is grey plastic Overall I love this figure.
