This template does well for its purpose. You need to cut the hole a little smaller than the lines. I tend to get a hole that is a bit larger than the cut-in ring.

I had to retrofit and double gang box in an awkward space and thought instead of standing on my head and trying to mark every thing out I would make a template. While doing research I ran across this one already pre made so I thought, what the heck. Worked pretty well. The only suggestion I would make is to add a mark halfway up the template and half way across. That way you can line up to measurements if you need to center on a small wall like I had to. Ruler, sharpie and 15 seconds solved that issue. The little rubber feet are a nice touch. You can also use holes to temporarily mount it in place if you want to just cut around it and remove template and blank at same time.

Does the job it is for.

I am not one to buy lots of jigs and things as it is just one more thing to store. This is definitely an exception to the rule, It is small, convenient and allows for accurate cutouts and is a big time saver. The non-slip pads on the back really work and prevent it from moving while you are tracing around it. This is definitely one to keep in the toolbox.

If you’d like to do a professional job and like to keep things neat and tidy as possible, this little tool is the answer for that. It enables me to keep my cuts for wall sockets exact, and as quick and easy to use. Line up the bubbles mark it and then cut it out. And it’s so small. It doesn’t take up much room in your toolbox, which is a blessing.

This one template will save you much time. I had one by EZ Cut brand that was more expensive. This one works just as well. The fluorescent blue color makes it easy to find amongst my other tools. I modified it to find L/R center, for my own convenience. (With pen) Plastic has been holding up well after about 20/30 cuts. I would highly recommend for single/double gain cut ins of Low or High Voltage boxes.

I just used this for the first time on a big job. Used it to level and cut a lot of low voltage boxes for cat 6 cable runs. Let me tell you, this saved me a lot of time over my old methods of tracing boxes using a small hand level. What a great little tool, I am very glad i picked it up. The low gang boxes also fit a lot better than the tracing I used to do using the box. Fantastic little item. Will be using it again on future installs.

This template ended up making a bigger difference than I thought it would! It was so easy to use it was worth the money. Even for just one project! We moved into an older house. We wanted to install a hardwire network so that we're not relying entirely on WiFi. Not only does this template make it easier to create level gang holes in a wall, it became very useful while planning where those cutouts should be! This made the process easier throughout the project.

I would give it 5 stars but the black rubber on the back that is designed to protect the wall, leaves marks on my customers newly painted walls.
