Excellent replacement part at a good price.
Ordered this to replace the 25 year old original that lost the spring that kept the handles up after unlocking. Minor cosmetic difference in that the original what brass colored and this one is like a nickel color. There is a difference in the hole pattern but that was easy enough to work around. New lock set is installed and is working very well. Very happy that I was able to locate and purchase this rather than have to start looking for new doors.

Great oem product at great price, bend is normal and easy to manipulate.
Perfect. Mine had the weird bend at the top too. NO BIG DEAL... all u need to do is center the assembly on your door (tip: line up to old screw holes). Install the closest screw above and below the assembly. Then work your way up or down screwing from the center out. Leave the first few screws snug but not tight and it will help it line itself up with proceeding screws. Then slightly bend the piece back where the bend is but do it softly and don't hulk it. Then hold it in place and tap it hard with a soft object, I used a rubber coated tape measure, Straightened right up. Then screw it and it will suck it tight. Super easy and the bend is normal. Added 35 seconds of work. I have included a picture of the area that was bent and it looks perfect.

Suitable replacement for 2579512.
I bought this after the lock set on my porch door failed. The original locket number was 2579512. This item (Fwh68) fit just fine and is working well.

Fit perfectly and works well
This is an exact replacement that took about 15 minutes to install and it works like the original one did when new. I only gave it 4 starts due to cost. My original one failed out of warranty due to a small broken spring that probably costs 10 cents and can't be replaced because the whole lock assembly is riveted together. Look on the internet and you will find a number of people complaining about this failure mode. The lock should be redesigned to allow easy replacement of the spring or change the design. If I could have put a standard handle set on the door I would have.

Excellent fit and easy installation.
Easy Installation. Now we'll see how the durability is. Hopefully it will last and function well for 30+ years like the original. A bit on the pricey side for this part though, it should be more in the $100 range or even less.

Fourth time's the charm?
Ordered this 5yrs and $90 ago. It was my second replacement. The middle part broke again. Value for money is low. We should be able to expect more. Great door - it is about 25 years old. The mechanism sucks out loud. I'd say do better, but contemporary manufacturers either don't have it in them, or they bank on this kind of failure. The thing's $299 - that means my door will have cost about $1500 after all is said and done (original cost thru third replacement mechanism). Things should be gold-plated.

Perfect fit and Easy to Install
The Andersen Fwh68 Hinged Door - (Active Door Panel) 3-point Lock Mechanism (1988 to Present) arrived in a long narrow cardboard box and had with a slight bow in it just as others reviewers have described. After examining the part I believe it probably comes from the factory that way and may not be due to handling. I placed it on my marble kitchen island and gently straightened it out leaving some curve in it to help pull it tight to the down when fastened to the door with the seven or eight screw required. I lubricated it a little before installing. It's ten minute job taking your time and fits perfectly, works very freely, a operate much easier than the old one. I'm very pleased with this product!

You really have no choice if you need this.
This is engineering at its worst. A simple spring failed in the original, but the part is not serviceable, so you're stuck spending $300 for this contraption. It is easy enough to replace, though.
