It merges left and right into one channel
I connected this to both output channels of my soundboard and to a 200 foot xlr cable that ran to a speaker. No sound degradation that I could discern.

I use on condenser and a dynamic mic. And they both work. I think it would be better to have two similar types of mics but it meets my purposes on my go XLR mixer. Yay.
