It is a broad range strip so it is ideal for applications where you do not need to know the precise pH of a solution but knowing within 1 pH unit would be helpful. It is not ideal for applications where you are looking for a precise reading, but is a great quick and easy test for when an approximate value is enough. These strips do not require any calibration (unlike meters) and do not require the use of anything but the strips for accurate results. Some things it is NOT ideal for are: testing different kinds of water (ie: distilled, tap, and bottled), testing saliva or urine (we recommend getting a more narrow range test for that) or any health related applications.
