First Alert EZ Fire Spray, Extinguishing Aerosol Spray

I purchased this 2 pack of small fire extinguishers to have on hand in case a fire ever breaks out at my home. While I have smoke detectors, a regular fire extinguisher and a fire blanket, I wanted something that would be super simple to grab up and use without even having to think twice about how it works. Having a fire extinguisher in a can seems to meet that need. With a larger extinguisher, I would have to get it from a different place, get it out of the bracket, and remember how to use it properly. While that should not be a problem, combine it with adrenaline and stress if there is a fire, plus vision problems, it is not the most reassuring feeling. These First Alert EZ Fire Spray cans do away with much of those concerns, as the cans' aerosol spray is good for all types of fires - flammable liquids, wood and paper, and electrical fires, so you do not have to think about whether what is burning matches what the extinguisher will work on. They can be easily stored in the kitchen (or around the house) as they are small, and will also remained pressurized for 3 years. The expiration date on the cans I received were just under 3 years, so were newly made at the time Amazon delivered them. First Alert states on their own website that the cans do remain pressurized beyond 3 years, but there is no way to know when the pressure has fallen too low for the aerosol to spray properly, as a pressure valve cannot be installed on a can. It is a good purchase to have, and I hope I never have to use it .

Well, I got to use it tonight and I’m glad I had it. I came home tonight after work and my wife had gone upstairs to sit with one of our cats. She’d left a candle burning on the mantle in the living room as she often does. It’s one of those bowl candles with 3 wicks. I was sitting on the sofa with another of our cats (yep, we have a lot of cats) and I looked over and the whole bowl was on fire with flames literally 8-10 inches high! I ran to the kitchen and grabbed one of these fire extinguisher cans and pulled the top off. Went over to the fire and shot the extinguisher for about 3 seconds which put it out. I noticed that the wax was super hot and you could feel the heat a good foot and a half away. I moved the candle to the deck outside to cool down. I went back and noticed a small white puddle on the mantle and some stuff an inch or two up the wall which I thought was wax but turned out to be the fire extinguisher fluid. I got a kitchen towel and wiped everything off and there was no damage or any mark left behind, as if nothing had happened!! You always wonder what if…if I hadn’t been in the room…if I hadn’t had the extinguisher to hand…well, who knows. Anyway, the extinguisher was easy to use, super effective, and yes, easy to clean off. A perfect product test and it passed with flying colors!!

Lifesaver!!! I was hoping to never have to write this review because that meant we had to use it. But now I’m glad to review such a great product. We’ve bought this sometime last year and placed them in the kitchen and garage. I was making muffins for my kids and turned on the toaster oven to preheat it a little. Some grease from last nights pizza must have dripped onto the heating rod and I heard a popping sound and all of a there was a fire in our oven. After getting the kids out of the kitchen I grabbed the spray bottle and one quick push on the top and the fire was extinguished. Can’t even think what else could have happened had I not been able to extinguish it so quickly. Love the ease of use, the speed, effectiveness, and the peace of mind knowing it will be there in case we need it again. Much less intimidating and intuitive to use than a traditional fire extinguisher. Buy these now! You won’t regret it, fires are one of those unplanned things that can happen quickly. If you know how to use hairspray, you can operate this fire extinguisher 😉

This First Alert EZ Fire aerosol spray seems like a very convenient emergency safety tool to keep around the house, car, or kitchen. The compact size makes it easy to store and access quickly if needed. Although I haven’t had to use it, it feels reassuring to have available for emergencies. Overall, it’s a practical safety product that seems easy and convenient to use.

I had a grease fire in my oven and we used this and fire was contained immediately !

I made pancakes and thought I turned off the burner. My bacon finished in the oven, I turned it off but somehow didn’t fully turn the burner off. When I put the pan where the bacon was in, a fire started b/c there was still grease in the foil. By time I saw it flames were shooting up! I quickly went to grab the van extinguisher. Well I left the plastic seal on and has to tell myself to slow down so I can get to it. Once I did I sprayed it and with two sprays it was out. Turned burner off and removed it. I sprayed once more to ensure. My heart was pounding. I was so thankful it was contained and I had purchased this easy to use spray. I was just praising God nothing was damaged!

My uncle recently passed away in a home fire along with his two small children whilst they were asleep due to his refrigerator spontaneously catching fire. He lived in an apartment, they had alarms, it happened so fast. As I was letting one of my friends know she told me her fridge caught on fire before and it went up very fast. She threw water on hers and she said the fire ignited 10x worse. Luckily her and her children were able to escape. I am letting everyone know this for awareness because I never knew anything like that could happen with a fridge. I was looking into products as our loss shook and devastated our whole family and purchased these. They are compact and look very easy to use. Price was good as well. I put one in the front and back of my home. They expire in 2025. There’s a finger dip indentation mark on it to show which way to place your finger on the spray nozzle. The can feels like there’s a good amount of product inside. My children will be able to use these as well as they are a good size for them to handle. Please protect your families no matter the cost. Do what you can for fire prevention.

Haven't tried it yet but we aware that the bottles can be stored only between 0C and 40C. If you live in Canada, you won't be able to store it in your car in winter.

I just received the fire spray and I haven't used it yet because I haven't had a fire . So that's a good thing. If I ever have a fire and use the spray, I'll let you know. I will say these fire sprays are very important to have in your home and worth every penny.
