Then my car didn't start one evening and had to get a jump. I didn't think it would be the alternator as I received the OEM remanufactured and purchased an Optima RedTop at the same time I replaced my old alternator with this one. But sure enough, current draw was 60 mA, so it wasn't something draining the battery. Charging voltage while the car was running was 12.9V. Maybe I just got a bad lot, but very inconvenient nonetheless. I purchased OEM because I didn't want to replace the part frequently as sometimes happens when you get remans from the Auto box stores. Lesson learned as the warranty process will be a hassle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars 1999 Lexus LS 400 Dropped right in, a fun puzzle. *by B***W on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2021* Unit came in Denso box and looked brand new. Exact replacement. I felt like I was surgeon replacing an organ on my baby and she responded like she had a new life. Just note, on a 98-2000 you need to remove/replace from under the hood while accessing bolts from underside and top, you will get it. Pull the fan and shroud, fan bolts are too fun, leverage joke, drain some coolant so you can move the top hose to the left. Remove plug and main wire from underside, the oval plug has a fun lock that was a b*tch. Dropped in no problem, serpentine belt repositioning is available online, you will get it. Overall a fairly easy but challenging puzzle that went smoothly. Crazy how all the electronics acted like they were in the presence of an alien spacecraft as in "Close Encounters" when the old alternator finally went at 200K. So good so far.
