Does the job

I bought this to complete the derusting of a large, intricate iron casting. The item is a Christmas tree stand that I found at a yard sale. I had already removed most of the rust using electrolysis and a wire brush. The stand was largely rust-free, but there were quite a few places where the wire brush just couldn't reach and there were pockets of red rust. A single coat of Kurust did the job and has left a good, solid black finish ready for final painting. I'd watched a few YouTube videos which recommended brushing off loose rust. This step is important to save The Kurust and to give a better surface for the chemical to work on. It's an excellent treatment for items intended to be painted later.

Hammerite Kurust is a white liquid. I have used it on some rust areas on the heater element. For that i cleaned up the surface and put a layer of Kurust on the rust areas. After drying I painted the heating element. Easy to use. Very economical in using.
