THE BEST JOURNAL!!
Update: I have completed one journal fully and have started on my second. I am still just as happy with it as when I was first trying it. In addition to everything else I had listed, I also started using watercolors on some of my pages and those held up too. I also now use the fine point sharpie pens and the pages are thick enough to not let those bleed over. I have already bought a 2nd set of these journals and will continue to do so as long as they are available. Still can't believe I finally found my perfect journal!!---After so much searching I have FINALLY found the perfect journal. I've only filled up about 10 pages but it doesn't take me long to know if it's going to hold up or not, and this definitely will. I was trying out some other journals that "creaked" a lot when opening (like the Amazon Basic's journal) which always made me so nervous, this does not do that. No first pages are falling out (I had that trouble with Moleskines) and the paper feels pretty thick. My favorite before this was Top's Idea Collective but I always hated the pattern on the front and I had a love/hate with the yellow paper, I think the white paper in this journal is nice. I love that this journal is as basic as you could make it while still having the must-haves: elastic strap to keep it closed, the ribbon, and the envelope in the back. The hardcover isn't as thick as the Top's journal but it's still sturdy, though it did come with some dings on the top front (you can see in the picture), but I don't really mind.So far I have used stickers, decorative tape, white-out, and scotch tape and glue sticks for adding pictures and it's all holding up great. If you like adding all that sort of stuff to your journals, this works out awesome for that. I've been using the Uni-Ball Gel Pen Medium/0.7mm and included a picture of the back of a page I have written on. Definitely not the worst I've seen (and once I actually write over that page I won't be able to see any of it anyway).I'm seriously so happy with this journal, I'd recommend it to anyone. No joke it's the best I've ever used, and especially for the amazing price.

This is the one you should buy...
I have been using these for the last 4-5 years. Simply put they are fantastic quality at a good price. The pages are sturdy and thick, the elastic band or bookmark has never broken on me, and the cover and spine is durable. They are a nice size that I prefer over a larger notebook, and look professional. I can use them in the office or in the field.Since I started using these at the office now many others are using them as well. I keep them stocked for my new employees and they usually stick with them. A few times the office staff has tried to swap them out with another and well....that never goes well. :)Give these a shot, you'll like them.

Great paper quality!
I think it's a great notebook for the price! I think the page quality is better than that of Moleskin's notebooks. It's a bit thicker so it doesn't bleed through as much, which I really like. The only thing I didn't like too much was that the back cover looked like it still had the plastic wrap on it, while the front cover was matte black leather. If I had to choose between the Moleskin and Essentials, I would probably choose Essentials.

By far the BEST
These are the best notebooks for the best price I have ever found. Period. The paper is thick and quality, a pleasure to write on with no bleed-through, and the covers are durable, with a bonus elastic stop to hold it in place. I especially love the bookmark, making it easy to flip to a specific page quickly, a good thing when you are on the move. Nothing to not like.Edit: I’ve purchased more than ten of these books over time but today I opened one up to find out the whole of the books pages were upside down with the wider top margin at the bottom. Picture attached. I quickly opened up and checked the rest. None of the others had the same issue.

Tiny.
Too small. I write a lot when I take notes, and it bugs me that it doesn't lay flat (not until you're at least half way through) so it's a struggle to write all the way to the margins.. Good quality paper..but I wouldn't buy it again simply because it's starting to hurt my hand to write so small. I do appreciate the bookmark and the holder, though. I just wish there was a full-sized version.See picture for size comparison. It's about the size of my hand, a little smaller in length than a tissue box.

These notebooks are the perfect refills for my diary cover (which holds A5 sized journals). I LOVE the satin bookmark, quality paper, college ruled pages and soft, comfortable covers. I've tried several journals (I'm pretty picky lol) and these are great! I love that you can buy them in two packs, as well!I also bought this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CWMAPW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 to go inside my cover (you could use it in one journal and transfer it to the second when that journal is full). It holds your pen tightly with your journal and is low-profile.These two products together are absolutely ideal and I highly recommend them!

Great quality and great price
I bought these notebooks as a bullet journal. I've only used for a few days but I can definitely state that I love them. The paper is much thicker than my previous Moleskine notebook with much less bleed thru using Faber-Castell's PITT artist pens and Staedtler fineliner markers. I like having the hard cover as well. Overall better quality than Moleskine for much less cost. Will buy again.

Truly fountain pen friendly
I really wish Amazon would keep these in stock, apparently they're popular. If not, they should be. As a long time journaler and user of fountain pens, I have found quality notebooks lacking in the marketplace. Sure, Field Notes or Moleskines are useful for certain things, but in my experience - not when you use a fountain pen, or even a gel pen. The ink bleeds thru. The paper in these notebooks is thick and heavy. Perfect for sketching and writing. I'm not sure of the makeup of the paper, but it gives off archival grade quality. Time will tell.If you're looking for a step up in quality without a hike in price, definitely buy these. Buy more than you need as well, because they're not often in stock with Amazon.

Better and cheaper
Great quality & cheap. Cover is made of similar material to a Moleskine and the lines of the paper are the same - but the paper is a lot thicker. I'm never going back to Moleskines.

heavy, but good quality
So these books are really good quality. The covers are high quality and durable and the pages are really thinks so you can easily write on both sides. It has a ribbon so you can mark where you're up to and has a high number of pages. The only downside is that it is a little heavy so it's one I'd carry to and from work in my handbag. But it's great to leave and just carry around during the day. really impressed with how much I can fit in this A5 notebook

These are lovely! The pages are thick and there's no bleed through from my fountain pen at all. The binding is strong and the cover looks like it will hold up well to being carried around every day. It has a pocket inside the back cover which I use to store a ruler, but it's strong enough and has enough room to add a few more things. Excellent quality. I love them.
