Fits the Aeropress perfectly and works as described. Using a magnifying glass, I found the holes uniform and with smooth edges. A well-made product and worthwhile addition to my Aeropress system. FYI: I have been a daily latte maker since the 1990s. The Aeropress is my go-to for travel and when I'm in a hurry at home.

I use a V60 pour over, & paper filters with my Aeropress. I decided to add this to my coffee brewing mix since I wanted to simulate something more like a french press. It's also fun to taste coffee made from a V60 vs paper filter vs standard filter. They all have their benefits & unique tastes. Both filters are great quality & will likely last a lifetime. I prefer the taste from the standard set. Tastes smoother, with more flavor profile for me.

My hope is that this review is thorough enough to give folks an idea of how I use these and my feelings on them. It may appear as though the review seems a bit negative that was not my intention, but lets be honest at the end of the day, it is just a coffee filter and it does what it needs to do, filter coffee. I have two Aeropress devices I use daily and was tired of the paper filters. We compost our grounds and would compost the paper filters too, but still it was paper and seemed like a waste to me. So when I found these I was excited to try them out. A few things to note about the disks: 1.) There is a difference in the sides of the disk. The holes in each disk appear to have a larger diameter side and smaller diameter side. I was having an incredibly difficult time cleaning the disks until I realized this and use them with the seemingly smaller side towards the grounds. 2.) I use the largest grind setting on my grinder to limit the sediment in the coffee, the wife hates sediment. 3.) As I said above I had a terrible time cleaning the disks when I first got them as the pores would clog and take several minutes to clean each disk. That was a pain every morning. I came up with a method for cleaning them that seems to work fairly well. Rinse the loose grounds from the disk, put liquid soap on the disk, directly, and rub the disk between the palms of your hand so each side gets plenty of soap. This works better than any sponge, brush, water pressure I have found to date. 4.) They are flexible, and warn you they are. Don't bend them, they will be permanently damaged. The thinner of the two, with the most tiny holes has a thickness of 0.0040 in or approx 0.1 mm of thickness. The larger hole disk is almost twice this at 0.0075 in or approx 0.19 mm. There are a couple things I would like to see in the next generation of disks. The thinner of the disks does not handle excess pressure well in the Aeropress as it is thinner than the other disk on occasion the coffee will squirt out between the disk and the Aeropress laterally. While this can be mitigated by using less pressure, making both disks the same thickness would be nice. The second is more of a nice to have, but including in the package a sleeve, even if it were a heavy canvas or some sort of storage container for the disks that help prevent them from flexing while in the Aeropress storage bag. The cardboard is nice, but you can't put a damp or wet disk in the cardboard and expect it to survive very long. And while I realize this is another cost, perhaps an accessory that could be purchased additionally? The images are to provide an idea of what I mean by different size holes. The disk pictured is the larger hole disk, and if you flip back and forth you can see there is a slight difference in hole size. I tried to keep the camera at the same angle distance etc to provide the same aspect ratio also. I couldn't get the calipers in to measure either side. Overall I am happy with the disks, I see they are currently not available but hope this is a temporary thing. (Measurements were taken using Mitutoyo 500-197-30 calipers)

I was honestly a bit hesitant to try this. a filter that makes coffee a bit more "dirty" was not something i was looking forward to. But after having a taste at some french press style coffee, I decided to take the plunge (hah) and go for it. and im really glad i did. This produces a cup that has more oils and more solids and makes for a great cup with lots of mouthfeel. Don't get me wrong, paper is still nice, but sometimes you want to try coffee in different ways to get a real feel for it and understand the flavors better.

Good set of filters, fits nicely. if you shop around Amazon these are probably not the cheapest metal filters for aeropress but they're most likely the highest quality ones based on the reviews. Was able to get good results from using them (I prefer the finer filter) using the inverted method, by keeping the oils in the cup the results do taste more true espresso-like. Still use the paper filters quite a bit but these are definitely good filters if you would like to reduce waste and brew a more oily cup of coffee.

I use paper filter for over ten years but want to experiment different brewing equipment recently. I immediately tasted the different the first time with the standard one. I was using city Yirgacheffe Aricha Washed roasted by myself. The citrus and floral profile stand is more prominent than brewing with paper filter. I am drinking another one from full city Yirgacheffe Kochere Washed at this moment. It is so strong that resemble an espresso. The filter can be cleaned by rinsing with running water. I haven't try fine one as it will probably harder to press on top of a small cup and I am afraid to break it soon. There will be some residue when using a finer grind which doesn't border me much. Overall very satisfied with this product.

Construction: Both disks look durable and well-made and work as expected. FINE disk is significantly thinner and looks more delicate compared to the standard disk. Only time will tell. Cleanup: Takes longer compared to paper filters (which are usually just thrown away) and some very fine sediments get stuck especially on the FINE disk. Expect the sediments and oils to affect the mouth feel and alter the flavor a bit, but not really too much.

The problem with the paper filter the Aeropress originally comes with is that they absorb much of the oils from the coffee. I enjoy the taste the oils bring to my cup, so these reusable metal filters are not only an environment-friendly alternative to paper filters, but also can improve the way your coffee tastes. The standard disk has larger holes, so to avoid fines in the cup I have to grind a little bit coarser than with the fine disk. So, all things equal, brewing with the standard disk leads to a cup a bit less extracted that brewing with the fine disk. It's fun to experiment with different grinding settings and see what I get with each disk. My only complain is that there were very minor cosmetic flaws on both disks. While these flaws don't interfere with the brewing, they upset me a little (but not enough for me to return the disks).
