I originally bought the PUR 30-Cup Water Filter Dispenser, but the filter that it came with slowed down to almost not letting any water through. When using the PUR Plus version, I filled the top basin and waited for 20 minutes and there was still virtually no water in the bottom part. I know these don't filter out as much as the Plus version, but I'm happy they're at least working. Water tastes better and it's certified to remove some contaminants.I started looking at off-brand filter replacements, but the whole point of the filter is to purify the water and I wanted an NSF certified filter. So that's why I stuck with PUR. The filter obviously fit perfectly in the dispenser, being that it's made by the same company. Installation is designed intuitively, just insert filter into the dispenser and rotate about a quarter-turn.
