Durability, reliability & quality
The tires specifically speak for themselves. Durability is more important then anything as I feel thru racing and training speaks volumes about how i feel about the this particular tire. The ride is smooth, working well in the high speed conditions of racing (45+Elite)@(80-81 kg) there excellent for flat resistance having to date 🤞🏻 none, why I give the tire a top review

Flat protection to the max! Sidewalls are showing wear from rides. Needs color options!
I commute 8 miles round trip daily for work for exercise and to save gas on my 1992 diamondback interval tg I restored. When theres events I'll take it for a 15-20 mile ride one way to downtown miami. avg 200 miles a month. The tires are quality. They up hold up when riding areas with a lot of obstacles and debris. There is a lot of glass and crap from people throwing garbage out of windows and car accidents in this area. I have not gotten flats due to punctures yet. I did get a pinch flat from hitting a sidewalk really hard. My fault. The aren't hard to get on or off my bike rims. Holding up over time. Haven't put over a 1000 miles on them yet. Hit a glass patch hard and sliced my tire but didnt go all the way through so these are tough. Patched with shoe goo and is hanging on. The side walls a showing wear. no issues yet, but doesnt look pretty. I like them a lot and getting a 28mm for a new back rim i got from work I fixed up. Hoping for a comfier ride. They are a little slower than racier tires but its much better than getting a flat once a month or every 100-150 miles like i have been on a pair of safaris. They are smooth, STIFF, and grippy but I've slipped out a few times in a hard corner and in the rain a few times. Not a great wet riding tire, Wish they had this tire in more color options to match my handlebar grips. ugly looking tire but it works well. Having flats? Get this. I bought these over rinodillios cuz I like quicker rides. i keep a good pace of 20 - 23mph when there isn't sick head wind or having to stop all the time at lights.

This is a great tire. I bought a pair in May and ...
This is a great tire. I bought a pair in May and have over 1,300 miles on them. They are just starting to show signs of minimal tread wear and have held up exceptionally well on the crappy chip seal roads and rock/debris filled shoulders I often ride on. Not a single flat since I put them on and no noticeable tears or gashes in the tread. I'm by no means a tire expert, but they seem to have equal or better rolling resistance to the various Bontrager Hardcase tires I've used exclusively in the past. By way of comparison, haven't had a rear one of those brand make it more than about 600-700 miles. The only downside to this tire is that you give up a bit of grip and road feel, especially in cornering, because of the hard compound. If your looking for a tire with great road grip at the expense of durability, then look for another tire. If you want a reliable, long wearing tire for training rides - get you a set of these. I bought them looking for something that I could get a lot of miles from that would be bullet proof over the crappy roads I ride on and they have exceeded my expectations. Found the only tire I'll be buying from now on!

One year, 3900 miles, Zero punctures
These tires are amazing. The sidewalls wore out and gave in a year later after 3900 miles. definitely worth the price. I weigh 250 pounds, and work on deliveries in dirty downtown streets and NEVER got a puncture, ZERO. I've had to pull some pieces of glass and thorns that got punched in the tire but nothing ever got through that protective layer enough to the tubes. I ride with them super inflated at around 118 psi on fixed gear. these have great grip you really feel like you can do anything with them, only slippery on office building ceramic tiles when its raining. they also feel pretty ok on dirt roads as well. when you have to ride to eat all you want is piece of mind and these tires let me forget about it. that's why they're 5 stars.

Best Commuting Tire (or just a tire to avoid flats).
Since getting these for my commuter bike, I decided to buy these for my faster bike as well. I put this tire on my rear wheel (where I used to get the majority of flats). Since installing this tire, I have yet to get a flat over 3 years (commuter bike, only 2 months with the racing bike). I have picked glass shards out of this and it still hasn't caused even so much as a slow leak yet. The weight of these is higher than I would like, but are well worth the extra weight since I don't need to carry a spare tire. Of all the tires that offer extra protection (hardshell level protection), this is still the lightest tire I could find. The grip is good, but not as good as say the Grand Prix 4000 sII. I wish they would include the "black chili" rubber on these as well. I never have an issue slipping at all, unless there is rain/snow. Again, I only have this on my rear wheel, however I can notice slightly reduced traction when I am breaking hard If the road is wet or worse. I am still able to grip the road enough to make sharp turns, but I find myself slowing down if I am making a sharp turn. I have ridden on some of my friends bikes who have other endurance tires (thick slicks, bontrager hardshells, etc.) and I haven't noticed more wet road grip on any and much less grip on some, so maybe it is par for the course on endurance tires. To sum it up: If you are looking for a good training/commuting tire that can basically drive through glass, this may be the best tire you can find (or at least that I have found). If you are looking for a tire that can blaze around corners in the rain at 50+mph, maybe look for a stickier/lighter tire.

this is a primary review because i did not put much millage on the tires yet on thing i can say is that the components and assembly on the gator skin are very solide compare to my old michelin pro 4. the tires get rock hard and have low rolling résistance if well inflated. time will tell if they last and are as poncture résistant as advertised

I've used Gatorskins for several years now with much improved puncture resistance than we used to have on our road bikes. The newer Hardshell version has proven to be even better. ...just over 6000 Kms combined on our 2 bikes with ZERO flats. It's inevitable when traveling that we'll encounter rough gravel from time to time. Avoiding fixing a flat in the rain on a 100K day with loaded panniers even once is a blessing. Done that. It's awful.
