I am mainly offering this review regarding germination rates, since so many people seem to have had difficulty with this seed. had zero problems germinating these seeds indoors, in an old sushi takeout tray filled with seed starting mix, under some cheap LED plant lights. Temperature was a pretty consistent 70 degrees. They popped up in five days and are growing fast. Yes, the seeds are very tiny and it’s going to be a pain separating out the seedlings, but I can’t imagine trying to start these outdoors unless you live in an area where you can count on a long stretch of mild weather and be absolutely diligent about gentle watering. I would not recommend these seeds for anyone looking for a quick lawn replacement. Those reviewers who have had the best success all seem to have taken months/years to get good growth. But I would say that’s due to the nature of the plant, not the quality of the seed.

Zero growth in a couple different areas months ago. Went to local nursery and bought a flat of ground cover. Still thriving in all areas. These seeds are totally worthless.

As many reviewers have stated, these seeds are MINISCULE. I carefully sprinkled a small number of seeds on a white plate (so I could see them), spread them out a bit, pressed my fingertip on a few, and lightly rubbed the fingertip and my thumb together over a prepared tray of seed starting mix. I pressed the seeds very lightly, misted the tray, covered it with a ventilated dome lid, and put it on a germination heating mat. On day 4 about half of the cells had tiny little seedlings! Look closely because they are tiny--about 1/4" tall.. The photo was taken on day 5. Note that this is the first time I've used this seed starting mix and I'm not a fan. For seeds this tiny the mix should be much finer.

I have my Grandfathers green thumb to grow anything. After babying these seeds, not one single one germinated.

I just germinated the seeds and planted them in a stone path walkway after seeing 2 - 3 leaves sprout. The automatic sprinkle system is on for a minute every morning, it's all up to the plant from here on.

I could not get seeds started outdoors. Called supplier and it was suggested that seeds are so small a breeze might blow them away. They sent more seeds, free. Have some started in seed starting medium. Now it's my job to nurture and move outside. (

Used 50-cell jiffy pot greenhouse. Excellent germination rate. Transplanted outside well and plants look great. As other reviewers have noted, the seeds are so tiny it's nearly impossible to control how many seeds get planted in each cell/pot. Not sure whether there were a full 5,000 seeds, but there were enough for my purposes in covering a front yard with grass alternative. The one thing that has me confused is that this plant does not actually seem to be the same herniaria glabra I buy at my local nursery, so I'm not really sure what to expect. My local herniaria is completely flat with tiny round leaves. This plant has larger oblong leaves and appears to grow 2-3 inches tall. Time will tell.

Nothing, good soil, filtered water, consistent temp, and growth bulb. Zero activity. Other seeds from different supplier in the section right next to it, sprouted... These seeds are just trash. Based on other reviews, it appears like it's a game of roulette. Seller always wins...
