Wonderful Pruner For The Money
I've had to maintain 2.75 acres of landscaping that our home sits on for the past 23 years. We live in hot and humid Southwest Florida where the plants grow quickly enough that you can almost watch them get larger. To shape them properly and avoid having them develop that "leggy" appearance, frequent pruning is just as important as proper watering, soil drainage, and fertilizer. It's hard to say how many pruning shears I've gone through since we've lived here. It's common to tackle a job too large for a hand pruner. That rewards you with a lost spring, a twisted handle or a broken blade. So far this TABOR tool has survived any attempt that I have made to damage it. The steel blade remains sharp, the blades lock together tightly when not in use, and the spring just keeps doing its job. This is a great pruner for only $14.95. Comfortable to grip, easy to use, no muss or fuss. I really appreciate the red color since I have been known to drop various tools and not be able to recover them since they are green or brown and blend into wherever I've been using them. Even one night outside results in a light layer of rust on a recovered tool. I've taken to painting the handles on all my dull colored equipment a bright orange so that it's easier to find them when they're dropped. NOTE: I was surprised when the spring on this pruner decided to shoot out somewhere out in our yard. Since i couldn't find it, I contacted Tabor and explained the problem. Within two weeks they provided me with two additional springs. Great customer service!

Great Pruners! VERY SHARP!
Very sharp! Be careful! Wow! This pruner is razor sharp. All I've used before were Fisker pruners - which are OK. But I feel like I'm in the big leagues with this Tabor Pruner. I didn't know what I was missing. Time will tell if it holds up. I actually got this as a gift for my wife. Her Fisker pruner kept getting smaller branches sandwiched between the blades. If I tightened the blades, it was too difficult to squeeze the handles. So I thought I would try another brand. To test the sharpness, I cut into a paper towel to see if it would cut or go between the blades. It cut a slit with ease. A perfect, clean cut - better than my sharp scissors. Then I tried it on some rose branches. Sliced nice clean cuts with no effort. The build is high quality. It feels very sturdy in your hand. My wife has small hands and some arthritis and didn't have a problem using this pruner. I like the handle lock in the back - opposed to on the side. It is less likely to be locked or unlocked accidentally. So far, I am very happy with this pruner. If, over time it falters, I will edit this review or write a new one. But for now, couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Finally Found a Great Tool ....
Received these last week and already they have had hours and hours of use. I love them! I am a 60 year old woman and they are so easy to use. I have a large lot in a heavily wooded area. I use pruners constantly. I had a pair of Fiskars, but these are so much better! 1.) They have the capacity to cut something larger than a viney little shrub. I easily used these on some some small tree branches... maybe .75". 2.) They seem to be really well made. I like the ease of the safety lock. 3.) They are easy on my hands. The grip is good and comfortable. Even my husband liked how they felt in his much larger hand. I've gone through many pairs of pruners over the years. So far, these are my new favorite. It's nice to be able to use them on something as small as dead-heading my flowers to cutting small tree limbs. We'll see how long they hold up, but they really do seem to be very well made.... and the price was great!

Best one ever
I bought this in 2018. It is 2024 and it works like day one. Even if left outdoors. This build quality is what I expect from most products. Still sharp and comfortable to use. So much so, I am buying more because I just threw out two others from other companies that didn’t last over a year.

They are fine.
Nothing special, you would think eith that many reviews something would stand out. These work well, and I haven't had any issues, just not particularly impressed vs every other pair of shears I've handled.

I really like them, especially for the price
I've been using these pruners now for at least a month. Nearly daily use. I really like them, especially for the price. I have large hands and these guys, though not as large as some hand pruners I've purchased in the past, fit very well. I like the clip that closes the pruners and the way it stays out of the way when you are pruning. The blades have stayed sharp and believe me, they've been worked hard with lots of Winter pruning. These guys will continue to be a well used tool in my arsenal of pruners. 3/5/2017 UPDATE - still a very capable pruner. I'm impressed and I prune a lot. I especially like the compactness of these guys...not really bulky if you slip them in your pocket. I've bought some terrible pruners at a similar price point. No, they are not Felco's but they are easily worth the amount you'll spend here. 4/29/2025 UPDATE - Continues to be my favorite hand pruners, possibly better than Felcos. So sharp is this pair of pruners if you are using hand pruners on wood less than1/2" to 3/4" thick. I believe Tabor has discontinued the manufacture of this item so get them while you can! I've got two in my cart.

Lightweight, SO easy to use, wicked sharp!
I've tried MANY MANY MANY garden clippers over the years - from name brand like Sears Craftsman, to boutique snipper-clippers, to even a 3-pack from CostCo. ALL left me ultimately disappointed, some sooner than later. Either the handle, locking mechanism or blade would simply not last or do the job ergonometrically. I was attracted to these clippers seeing the handle locking mechanism. Believe me, if you have a pair from CostCo, you will know that you practically dislocate your thumb pushing the locking wheel into place. OW OW OW. You might think that the coiled spring in these is flimsy, but it is NOT. The blade is wicked sharp, too. But best of all, the locking mechanism is that simple swing clip that fits over the base of the handle. What could be easier? I have been using these pruning sheers for several months now, and find them perfect for household flower arranging or gardening. You can easily cut a stem or branch almost 1/4" thick. The vendor is also very customer-focused, having contacted me to see if I liked the sheers. I can now give a resounding "YES!" having tried them out for a few months.
