Recently I found myself wondering: is there a better way to keep a drink cool in the summer months than by watering it down with melting ice? You can use whiskey stones or similar re-usable ice-cube-replacements, but surely there must be something more 21st-century out there? And there is! In fact, we've had the technology for it since 1834, in the form of a Peltier cooler which uses electric current to produce a temperature gradient with no moving parts or liquids involved. In practical terms: you hit the capacitive touch button on the front of this thing, and the metal plate in the depression on top becomes quite cold, quite quickly. Pour your pre-cooled drink into the provided aluminum cup and place it on top, and it'll stay chilly. I've seen some reviews bemoaning the fact that it doesn't really cool down a room-temperature drink very well, but that's not this thing's fault; thermodynamics is just stacked against us when it comes to cooling things down versus heating them up, unfortunately. While this won't cool a warm drink down, it'll keep an already-cold drink nice and frosty, and that's really all I need. My one minor complaint with this thing is the capacitive touch button on the front; it's both too sensitive and not sensitive enough by turns. Sometimes it takes a few finger pokes to get the device to turn on or off, and conversely sometimes I'll turn it on while just moving it around my desk, with my finger not especially near the button. This hasn't caused any real problems for me, however, and doesn't affect the operation, so I can easily live with it. All in all I'm quite happy with my purchase, and look forward to many cool drinks on hot days with this futuristic-feeling gadget on my desk.

I was initially very excited as I prefer my drinks to be COLD. I followed all of the directions and even bought a beefier power supply to avoid overheating. The noise was comparable to a 12v computer fan. This sucker really gets cold! However, without having a direct contact with the removable metal cup, it won't cool the drink very well. The instructions suggest filling the metal cup with water, but that just created a wet mess anytime I tried to drink. The only other alternative this highly analytical person could devise was using some sort of cold-conducting gel that wouldn't cause a mess, but I quickly realized I was going overboard for an item that just wasn't worth the effort. Great idea in theory, but the execution is rather poor.

I like to keep a cold drink on my desk while I work but find it does not stay cold for long and sweats on my papers. This product will keep it cold. No more going to the refrigerator multiple times daily to get a cold beverage. I keep a gallon container of bottled water in my office, under my desk, at room temperature and fill the cup that is provided with the product as per my wishes and its made cold. I have had this product for only one week. Still works great, the beverage is made very very cold, just how I like it. 04/12/20: just ordered another one for my daughter as a gift. 07/14/20 My first purchase just broke in under a year ? It worked great up to its date of death. I hope they will be considerate to me and replace it.

Part of my reason for purchasing this is their specifications of "silent machine" It is NOT silent, in fact, it has a fan and is rather noisy and would be heard on my web calls. It is cold and did keep my water cold, however the aluminum container is too small and will not fit some of my water bottles.

I read a lot of these other reviews before buying, and I saw complaints about it not getting all that cold, or the fan being too loud. I don't see these problems. It gets plenty cold enough, and the fan is quiet. As this is obviously a product built in a certain country, the manufacture may be inconsistent, but I must have gotten a good one. The touch control is neat, but is a little too easy to accidentally turn off and on. The device is kinda bulky, taking up about twice the diameter on your desk as the bottle or can you're cooling. Not a big deal and I didn't knock any stars off for it. The only thing I really didn't like was that it tells you to put a little water inside if you're cooling a bottle or can. I understand, it's to help thermal coupling with the drink and it makes sense. Competing products do the same. It just leads to dripping cold water on yourself when you take a drink. Edit: I underestimated how easy it is to activate the touch control. You just have to get near it. Actual contact is not required. That is way too sensitive.

This chiller will cool a soda can, wine bottle, or whatever you like. It is well made. It has auto shut off, but the cooling time will allow it to work overnight. It makes some noise, but works well. I’m really glad I got it.

This is a cute one can electronic cooler. The only problem I can see is that the power supply (Adapter- 120 volts to 12 volts) is barley rated for the load( 3 amps). This causes the adapter to get quite warm. I measured 133 degrees F, or 56 degrees C. I spoke to the supplier and they were very good about trying to make me happy but the unit should, in my opinion, have a 5 or 6 amp capacity adapter. They are the middle men so they don't have control to make the changes for a larger Adapter. I think one company manufacturers all these units that look the same. The various suppliers just put their names on them. Their motivation is profit not safety. If you buy one of these units, see how hot the adapter gets, then you decide. UL would never approve it.

Work awesome for us!! Also bought Tumblers with Lids and Straws, 16oz Stainless Steel for more oz's. Would buy again.. Maybe will for Christmas or birthday gift.

This unit is relatively quiet and definitely keeps your drinks very cold as long as your using the stainless steel metal cup that comes with the unit. You can of course put a can of soft drink in the unit but it may not cool as fast as you want. I use it about 12+ hours a day and not issues yet. Only issue is unit stopped working after 6 months. Vendor did some troubleshooting and sent me a new unit. This vendor stands behind it's product.

I am super pleased with this "cup-glass" cooler. It will even freeze the water at the bottom of the cup if you do not drink from it for a couple of hours! Although juice's and alcoholic drinks will not freeze this will keep them very cold. No need to dilute your drinks with ice...

Waited about 1 month to receive it. It did not work upon receipt.
