and this product delivers the best results in effectiveness
Man...this stuff right here works wonders!! From personal experience, I have a history of stomach issues, and I have tried brands from Tums, Walgreens, Equaline, Signature Care..you name it I've tried it, and this product delivers the best results in effectiveness, and is the best for the price. Plus it doesn't taste like medicine like the other guys, it has a subtle fruity taste to it. But don't just take my word for it. In my college chemistry class, we conducted an experiment where we tested various brands of antacids to see how well they neutralized a sample of hydrochloric acid, (nearly the same stuff in your stomach). The upset stomach is caused by restless stomach acid, maybe reacting with your food, or just being unruly, so when you take an antacid, they show up on the scene like " Act right, or go night-night!!", then proceed to neutralize the acid because the active ingredient is calcium carbonate, a base. So onto the boring stuff, we titrated (fancy way of precision mixing liquids) sodium hydroxide (another base) into an acidic solution. The acidic solution was what remained after we reacted roughly 10mL of hydrochloric acid with 1 tablet from four different brands of antacids. Then using calculations based on the differences in volume, molarity, and ingredients of the antacid I was able to determine the exact amount of acid a single tablet neutralized. When I worked with the most common brand Tums, I had high expectations, I mean these guys were household names. Costing average $0.03/tablet of Tums, Walgreens $0.009/tablet, and Signature Care and Equaline both costing $0.019/tablet. I calculated that out of the 0.01114 mols of acid, a single tablet of Tums was able to neutralize 0.006549 mols (molecules) of it, so a little more than half (58%). So if your stomach was really unruly, you'd have to take 2 tablets!!!. Tums was the second least effective product as well as the most expensive, what a joke!! >.< I also tested two other brands Signature Care and Equaline. Signature Care neutralized 0.010998 mols of 0.019215 mols of hydrocholric acid (57%). Equaline neutralized 0.01105838 of 0.01615175 mols of the acid (68%). While the Champ --> Walgreens neutralized 0.0095192 mols of 0.01114 of the acid (85%)!!<--WHAT DO ALL THE NUMBERS MEAN!! Simply ranked in effectiveness Walgreens > Equaline > Tums > Signature Care. Walgreens being the best and Signature Care being the worst. As for being the best priced per tablet Walgreens < Signature Care = Equaline < Tums. Tums being the most expensive and Walgreens being the least. Walgreens brand even tasted the best, although Tums fruity flavors are hard to beat, but I could care less about flavor if your product doesn't deliver the results I need. That being said, Walgreens brand of antacids are the most effective and cost effective of the four brands I tested, and I would recommend to all my friends, family, strangers alike.
