Q: Do you attach the bed frame

I made a basic carcass, and bolted the mechanism into the side of the carcass. The carcass construction was fixed to the back wall, floor and ceiling.

Q: Would this system work with a single bed?

Yes it would but I'd recommend removing most of the springs if using it for a single bed. With all the springs in place, it would easily fold itself up while you were still in it. Removing the springs is simple enough if a bit messy (they're covered in grease).

Q: Are you able to install/remove the bed frame after mounting the boxes? Or does the cabinet need dismantling should you need to replace?

You can remove the bolts holding the bed frame without dismantling the cabinet.

Q: Why does this product weigh 11 kilograms while similar products weight only 1 kilogram?

I would assume to help with carrying the weight of the bed built, personally I would not feel comfortable fitting the bed I've built to a 1kg mechanism. The springs alone in this mechanism probably weight over 1kg Hope this helps. Ps it's very secure once fittied
