Much needed upgrade
Went from the TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router TEW-432BRP to this, and no more drops. My old wireless G just could not handle the bandwidth, and would give out on very fast downloads. This Wireless N router picked right up, and went faster, got better Mbps on my wireless adapter, and does not drop off signal. So now I'm a happy wifi user :) They sent it with the most up to date firmware, and that's a plus. It's set-up was basic, and simple as my old wireless G unit, but with a few changes to the interface. Same exact price as I paid for the my old one. My only minor grip is the antenna is not removable :( If your looking for a basic wireless N router with little to no experience on running one than this is a great starter router. My download speeds are 26.8 Mbpss max , and upload 2.2 Mbps max. I don't know if it will handle the 50/5 meg line I'm thinking about ordering, but if it does work out on faster speeds I will edit the review. Thanks Amazon!

Great router for simple home wireless network
My previous router was the TRENDnet TEW-432BRP. It had to be rebooted a few times each week since sometimes my devices would not be able to see the SSID of this router and therefore was unable to connect to it. Price was a big determining factory for selecting the new router.I picked up the new TRENDnet TEW-711BR because my local cable internet company was providing higher speeds. I have had good experience with TRENDnet routers in general--they seem to work fine for my simple usage of just having a simple wifi network at home. The old router seemed to max out at 15 Mbps for wireless connectivity. Being familiar with the TRENDnet routers, I tried to connect to the former router IP address 192.168.1.1, but it didn't work. For this new model, it hosts at 192.168.10.1 by default. I was able to quickly use WPS to link my additional devices (printers, cameras, etc) as easy as the one touch setup. The old router used 7.5V at 1.0A therefore consumed 7.5 Watts. The new TEW-711BR is 5.0V at 1.0A therefore 5 Watts. Decent improvement on power savings.I was able to get speeds of around 38 Mbps with this new router and am fairly satisfied with its performance. The signal strength seems to be just about the same as the TEW-432BRP since it only has one antenna. You can notice the speed decrease as the signal integrity decreases. With Low signal, I still manage to get 15 Mbps through two walls and being about 30 ft away from the router.

DOA
DOA, wouldn't power up. Had to run to the store and buy a different one. It's too bad, price was good.

The router worked great for a couple of weeks
The router worked great for a couple of weeks. Then, for unknown reasons, I would lose the wifi signal maybe 4-5 times a day, and have to reset it to obtain the signal again. I called the Trendset technical line, and all they wanted to do was charge me an additional fee to refer me to their problem solver department. Since the router works most of the time now, I guess I'll keep using it, but if I had to do it all aver again, I'd definitely buy a different/more powerful unit from another company.

Three Stars
Not that strong in delivering a wifi signal

Love
Haven't had a problem with it at all. Somewhat challenging to start up but have not lost web connectivity once and that was a problem with our old Belkin and using iPhones.

Easy to setup and it just plain works
I've been really happy with this router. It was easy to setup and it just plain works. I rarely if ever have to reboot the router, which is exactly what I wanted. There are certainly faster wifi routers out there now but this works fine for my home use.

Good basic router
I've been using this router for about a month, and it's been very reliable. Wi-fi is rock-solid throughout the house, it hasn't had any hiccups or required any reboots, and latency and speed have both been good. The web interface is pretty typical for this kind of router, with all the usual features. If I had a complaint it would be that it only has four Ethernet ports, but of course I knew that when I ordered it. For the price it's been a very good value.
