Porter-Cable PCB420SA Belt with 8" Disc Bench Sander, 4" x 36"

Love this sander, works flawlessly and has two shelves so you don't have to detach one to move it back and forth during use. I had no issue with perceived wobble or belt run-off since I setup the shelf for the disc sander by squaring it up and adjusting the gap of the shelf to the disc surface before use. I also made sure the belt was plumb by hand turning it slowly by hand and adjusting the belt prior to power up, so the bench sander worked flawlessly from the startup. I've had bench sanders most of my life and this is a very nice sanding rig for the money. Quality is very good.

I can't blame a supplier for something that could have happened in shipping. However, they processed the return in excellent time, and the second one was good. I feel like some folks grade the Porter Cable brand down because they think it should work like an industrial sander at a professional company. However, for a guy like me, who has a fairly sophisticated shop, the trade off between cost and quality is more than acceptable. It does everything I need it to do, and I use it a couple of times a week. I am pretty sure it will last longer than I will.

I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews stating that the sander was underpowered. Unless they were trying to sand down a railroad tie, this unit has plenty of power. No problem with the disc running uneven or wobbling. This is a quality sander and is built well just pick it up and you will feel what I mean.

The two tables cannot be leveled. Can't sand anything squared, the hardware to tighten down tables is useless. Waste of money. Plastic was broken on right side of flat belt sander. Would've returned it but Amazon would fire me as customer.

A real jewel. Heavy & powerful with a good dust blower fan. Like the tilt tables. easy to tilt belt portion to vertical. Does not vibrate around on the bench. Tracking is good & belt changing is one-lever with automatic tension. I am pleased and that isn't easy!

I like it for what it is - inexpensive. The tables are cheap and tilt adjustments not precise. The plastic miter gauge is a toy. Porter-Cable used to sell higher quality tools. On the bright side, the disk is flat; motor is powerful enough, and not super loud; belt tracks straight. The sander looks good, and sits still on a bench without being bolted down. The dust collection system is good. I'm glad I bought it. It's a handy addition to any workshop - just don't expect to get more than you pay for.

This is an excellent stander, the motor is strong, the belt does not wander, adjustments are easy. The unit is heavy to sit on the bench and not move or vibrate around.

This unit really has the horsepower to perform heavy duty sanding. My old bench sander was easily bogged down with bigger jobs. This is well designed and was exactly what I was looking for.

Very solid , well built machine, easy , clear instructions for the limited set up and assembly required , after the sander arrived .The sander was more expensive than some other available sanders but you can see, and feel the difference in quality when working with the Porter Cable model. Could not get over how quickly the sander was delivered , after it was ordered. No regrets, two thumbs up !

Great addition to the shop. Don't know why I waited so long to get one of these. The Porter Cable sander seems to be better quality construction that what you would find in most of the sanders on the market. Support tables are stronger and just have a better feel to them. Great machine.
