I purchased some M8 x 110mm studs for the wall and they fit perfectly. You can go smaller (i.e. M6) if needed but do not go larger (M10) as they wont fit the holes on the frame. Q= Would I buy again? And can it be places outside without rusting?** A: No idea where was made. Ours been outside since before winter and still going strong, if that helps **Q: can this be mounted onto a wooden beam?** A: I suppose if it was hard wood, sturdy enough to load bear and you bought the correct fixings, it would be possible.
