Inconsistent screen clarity
Update: We must have received a dud, or maybe one that someone broke and returned and it was packaged up and sent out. I bought a new one just to see if it was a fluke, turns out it was. This monitor is phenomenal. The range is excellent, everything about it is excellent. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. The range for us turned out to be about 180 yards with multiple walls of interference. It's been close to a year with the replacement and it works as if it was brand new. Will buy for future monitor needs as well. This camera worked wonderfully for 3 whole days. I was so impressed with the video quality that I kept taking pictures of the screen. I included a daytime and nighttime picture of the screen. After day 3, either the camera or the screen completely crapped out. I either get lines through the screen such as in my included picture, a black screen, or a screen that has messed up contrast to the point you can’t see your child. I have rebooted everything multiple times, and it will work again for a day or 2, and then I have to do it all over. My breaking point was when I was watching the monitor and it had perfect clarity, and for no reason switched over to all the lines. There was no change in light or movement in the room, baby was completely asleep. Absolute garbage for the price. Very disappointed as we needed a long range monitor and this one had the best reviews for that. Will be returning.

This is amazing and a grandmas secret tool to babysitting
My favorite things about this camera that I use for my grandbabies: 1. Panasonic’s baby monitor is long-range with a long-life battery 2. It provides the user with zero interruptions/alerts on your phone, because it has its own monitor, as opposed to a monitor that links to a mobile device. 3. Operates on its own frequency, so no one can tap into the Baby Monitor via WiFi. 4. The monitor provides great video quality and top-of-the-line features, such as Smart Sensors for motion and temperature. 5. The fact that it’s portable to bring to my house from my daughters or sons house. 6. It gives me confidence that my grandbabies are safe while I’m baking sourdough bread or working in my home office The Panasonic Baby Monitor helps to create the ideal balance because it is a dedicated, secure, long-range system that tells you what you need to know when you need to know it. I highly recommend this monitor for parents and grandparents alike

Great Monitor
I really love this video baby monitor! It is so easy to use right out of the box. It has a nice clear picture, good sound, and great range! My little one sleeps upstairs and I can be downstairs across the house and it works perfectly. I love the smart notifications for sound, movement, and room temp. It is small so I can take it with us when we travel and I love that it doesn’t need Wi-Fi so it’s super easy to just set up and use.

Not long range or reliable
First, the main reason I bought this was for the long range claim. I even returned two previous cameras I bought bc they weren't long range. We do have a longer house but this monitor doesn't cover anymore ground then the first 2 I bought so don't buy it if you think it'll be any better distance wise. I even called Panasonic to get some guidance and they just said to put the antenna up which seems like a joke. Second, I NEVER write reviews, but I'm writing this review one year and a half after I bought it bc I have had issues from the start and wanted to help others not make the same mistake. It started out fine, but a few months in the screen started to say "charging error" and it would reboot itself and annoyingly light up the screen in the middle of the night several times. As a new, full time working mom I never had time to go through the motions to get it fixed and it was more of an annoyance thing so I always tried to remember to flip it face down. The real issue started when I noticed the camera would sometimes shut off or say it couldn't connect to the camera even when I was one room away. When I was pregnant with my second child, I figured it would be cheaper to keep the camera and just buy a second camera; as opposed to buying a new screen and two cameras. So now I've invested way too much money and it's worthless bc the screen is totally blank as you can see from the picture. Don't waste your money. The picture isn't even that clear. Better cameras are out there.

18 months later...
We purchased this item 18 months ago. We have it mounted on the wall, which makes the viewing angle.. special, for the most part, but doable. The pan and tilt is a nice function but does leave a blind spot if you are trying to mount it above the bed. We just pulled the crib away from the wall a few inches and all was fine. We are now running into issues with it "charging" and sometimes it says there is an error. When you unplug it, it shuts off but turns back on when the charger is reconnected. Not a dealbreaker. Battery life is meh, especially at this point. It only lasts a few hours with no movement if it's not charging - but then again, I have a toddler now so it's really a moot point. We don't need the monitor all day long for a gazillion naps a day anymore. The zoom is okay, I rarely use it since we have it mounted above the bed. Motion detection and noise alerts are adjustable and work well, there is a constant volume on it if you have a noise machine going. To get it to stay quiet, you'll need to shut the volume off which may or may not work for some people but the screen lights up when there is movement or noise above the set threshold. The "extended" range is a joke. I'm sure it works better than others but by no means is this gonna get you very far. I can usually go outside and about 4 houses down (very close houses) before I start having issues. The main point of this "long range" was really to be able to walk to our bus stop and pick up the other kid if one was napping, it doesn't work. So I basically facetime an ipad and set up a stream from there to make sure everything is okay from my phone since they're secure in their crib. It works all the way through the house and into the yard so there's that, but we have a very small lot so if you have some land - you may not get the same mileage. Overall, not a bad purchase it has absolutely done it's job for this long and I'm not upset with this purchase. It definitely stretched the distance further than our first one that was a knock off video monitor. I prefer this one over that for sure but did wish it had a bit more range. Oh, but the temperature monitor is absolutely not accurate. We have a thermostat dot in the room after the monitor kept telling us it was 86 in there (it wasn't).

THIS moitor actually works... consistently
Panasonic Baby Monitor with Camera and Audio - Purchased 09-19-2023 Tried a couple of cheaper monitors on Amazon. The first wouldn't even power on. The second worked for about a week and then the motion detection just stopped working. So it seems that you get what you pay for with monitors. I purchased this for my son, who has seizures in the night. I love that I can adjust the sensitivity of the camera to both sound and motion individually, and I can adjust the alarm volume on the monitor. I can also adjust the angle of the camera up-down-left-right, as well as the brightness and contrast. It is a perfect system for fine-tuning everything to your personal preferences/needs. It's made by Panasonic, so I expect it to perform well and for a good long time.

For elderly care
This camera(s) has been a lifesaver. My grandmother has dementia and is not always stable in her feet. She doesn’t remember to turn her light on or call out for someone before getting up. This wonderful camera not only allows us to see her very clear but it alarms us when there is movement. You can control the sensitivity. It’s has a lot of options. We did two cameras and they connect very easy. Really great product. Highly recommend. Even has a lullaby setting that would be great for children.

Not worth the money!
The only thing this monitor has good about it is the range that it will pick up is pretty far. The sound quality of this monitor sucks. If you have a sound machine or any other noises in the room it will pick that up over the sound of your baby. I even have the monitor mounted on the wall right above the baby and the sound machine across the room. Ive had much better picture quality from cheaper monitors and I am not impressed with this monitors picture quality at all. When zoomed in the picture just gets blurrier. Also the screen is still very bright even on the lowest setting. The temperature gauge is highly inaccurate! One minute it says its 74 in the room and the next it says 67 and both are inaccurate. I have trouble with the battery dying after being used a few short times throughout the day and I charge it all night. If you are looking for a good quality monitor I highly recommend the vava monitors! The vava monitor is very durable, great picture and sound quality. After a few weeks using this monitor I would not recommend it and still may return it and purchase another vava monitor!
