Great headunit for a great price! *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2019* I have a '08 Ford CVP1 and the head unit that it came with was a basic radio with a cassette player (yes folks, I said cassette player! Lol) I needed something a little more updated. This unit did the trick. It's cheap but don't let the price fool you. It has the options I was looking for. No, it doesn't have GPS but, my other cars OEM radio that does have GPS doesn't always give precise turn for turn directions, not to mention that it lags so, I use Google maps on my tablet. Linking was pretty simple. This radio recognized both my cell phone and the tablet but they can not be used simultaneously. The sound is tremendous!! It's almost as if I replaced the speakers too! No need to upgrade the speakers and that's money in my pocket. Display is bright and doesn't glare at you while driving at night but, bright enough during the day. There is an option to dim it down with just a touch of an icon if it is too bright for you. I did a quick scan of the local radio stations in my area and they all came in crystal clear. Just be sure to change the radio signal from Europe to U.S. in the settings (or which ever country your located in). The IR remotes both work great and respond very well. I'm going to use the steering wheel remote because, well, hand held remotes tend to grow legs and walk away. The steering wheel remote comes with stretchy velcro and holds pretty good.Ok, now for the dislikes. Let's start with the users manual. It's lacking, period. I understand this product was made in China but the word for word directions are very lacking and in some areas, misspelled. Doesn't really give you any precise direction on how use any of the functions. The wiring diagram (separate pamphlet) is good though. My recommendation is to buy a separate wiring harness (plug) for your specific vehicle. Makes wiring so much easier! The UI is a bit finicky. If you are to switch from one function to another (say, bluetooth to radio or home screen to bluetooth, etc. etc.) the unit "thinks" for about 5 seconds before making the switch. For some reason I'm not able to use the "mirror" option using a data cable plugged into the USB port. I've tried everything I can think of and the unit just won't mirror my phone or tablet. It did download my contacts though.**Update** ok, so apparently the USB debugging software on the Android phone must be turned on. I have a Samsung S7 Edge (yes, I know, I have to upgrade my phone as well) and in order to turn that option on within your phone you have to go to "settings", tap "about phone", tap "software information", tap "kernel version" 7 (SEVEN) times. This will open a hidden secret which is called "developer options". This option is now located in your settings menu at the very bottom of the list. So now, go back to "settings", tap on "developer options" and look for "USB Debugging" and turn it on. You are now able to mirror your phone to the screen of this radio via USB cable. I'm not sure if this sequence is the same for all Android makes and models so, I recommend bringing your phone to your service provider and have them look into how to turn on USB Debugging for you. This did work for my Samsung S7 Edge.There is a back up camera that came with this unit but I did not install it because I'm too lazy to wire it up through so, that being said, I can't give an accurate review on it. I also haven't been able to use the SD or AV ports just yet.Overall, there are more Pros than Cons and I'm satisfied with this radio. If you are looking for a cheap way to replace your existing radio, then this would be the way to go. Stations that were clear as a bell on my old radio hardly come in at all with this one. I drive by a radio station every day. 93.7. When I'm within a mile of the station, EVERY FREQUENCY tuned on this radio hears.....93.7. Doesn't matter if I have 101.5 or 92.5 tuned...all I hear is a static-y 93.7. Other than that, couldn't get the BT to hook up, didn't bother with the camera, touch screen worked well, it's a weird size to fit in the hole, for some reason after hooking this up I had TPMS failures that went away when I removed it. Go figure.
