Walking With Dinosaurs (Remastered) (DVD) This classic Dinosaur series from BBC Earth revolutionized the natural history television world with its spectacular recreations of dinosaurs in their natural habitat. It now returns to DVD better than ever – newly remastered and with never-before-seen content! Tracing their 160-million-year history, from their first appearance to their abrupt demise, Walking with Dinosaurs brings the amazing lost world of the dinosaurs stunningly back to life. Review: I want to become a paleontologist because of this series. - I fell in love with this series as a little girl and it inspired my love for all prehistoric things. The music is iconic and captures the awe of all the creatures. The creators did a wonderful job at portraying the dinosaurs as actual animals and not just giant, scary monsters. Although many depictions and facts in the series is false or outdated, it still has a special magic that no other prehistoric documentary series has been able to replicate. For anyone who wants to fact check this documentary, I recommend Ben G Thomas on youtube, who's made a wonderful series all about what Walking with Dinosaurs got right and wrong. Review: Great for our dinophile almost-four-year-old and we don't mind watching it either - This series is brilliant. The special effects are truly impressive, the style (made like a fake nature documentary, as if the filmmakers are just observing the dinosaurs in the wilds) is clever, and it's all just fascinating. Some of it is quite graphic with dinosaurs battling each other, eating each other and dying off in lots of different ways, so I was worried that my almost-four-year-old wasn't ready for it. But he's started to ask questions about dying and animals eating each other and this has actually been a nice segueway into those discussions. We've especially enjoyed the "making of" featurette - lots of information there well beyond how they acheived the special effects.

Great for kids and adults
Our little one loves dinosaurs and this series keeps her attention. I found it very informative and CGI dinosaurs were very lifelike. Features two disks that cover all the familiar and unfamiliar dinos. Disk 1 is the actual program itself while disk 2 is extras such as 'the making of...'. Runs about 3 hours and looks great in hi-def.

Remastered and quite new
In the beginning of the series when it shows the Cretaceous period, there was music in the background unlike the original series since it is remastered. I find that interesting and something to appreciate, even when the contents remain the same. As for Walking with Dinosaurs: The Next Chapter, it shows an insight of dinosaurs with the use of modern science and technology. I love it how Steve Brusatte explains and demonstrates of the dinosaurs' lifestyle with other paleontologists' standpoints.

Older FX but great for my kid
I have a Dino obsessed child. The problem is that he has ZERO patience watching humans talk about dinosaurs. This has been great to keep him entertained and engaged because pretty much the only thing that is on the screen is dinosaurs. Dinosaurs do die in this, and get eaten but my child seems completely cool with it and can list dinosaurs I never knew existed. Because of this glorious show I have been able to accomplish things around the house… like take a shower or do the dishes.
