What is the quality like? My supermarket sponge rips after 2 days

Quality is good. In time the sponge starts to crumble, but the lifetime is quite good.

Can you wash them in the washing machine?

I Haven’t but I find no reason why you can’t , but I have done it with other sponges. I wash mine with soap and hot water and replace them after a few months.
