Functions as expected, great quick fix instead of having to replace connector
Great product! Sure beats having to put a new RJ-45 connector on, just because the locking tab broke off.

Fast and Easy to Use.
It getโs the job done fast. Easy to use and I was able to repair 7 Ethernet cords. Replacing for new 50ft or 100ft cords can get expensive, and itโs worth keeping your current cords as long as you can.

Worked like a champ!
This handy clip saved me from having to re-run a new 25' ethernet cable through the wall. The old ethernet cable's locking tab was broken, and I was forced to rig it the interface with some electrical tape to keep the end from falling out. This clip slides over the end of the ethernet cable and is positioned (clamped) on the area behind the interface (wire connector). I did need to trim off some of the old broken tab, but a simple diagonal cutter cleaned it up just fine. I shared some of these clips with our kids since they also had some broken ethernet clips as well. All went well. These clips were a simple install and made it much, much easier than having to replace difficult ethernet installations!

Works Adequately, Even On Cat 8 Plugs, With a Little Alteration and Effort.
I got this to work adequately for my Cat 8 RJ45 connector. It's not as stable as it would be on a standard Cat 5 or 6, but it does the job. Plugs with heavy insulation and/or shielding can have larger rubber coatings around the back end of the plug. Sometimes it's possible to slide these back, sometimes they are molded to the cable and you can't dislodge them. I could not move the insulation on mine, so I had to cut the repair clip at the groove where it is designed to be cut for situations like mine. I used a combination of a diagonal wire cutting tool (sometimes called a dike or dykes) to snip gradually on the sides and an X-Acto knife on the top, while repeatedly bending the two sections back and forth to weaken the groove. That leaves thin arms to wrap around the plug, so it's flimsier, but good enough to hold the plug in the jack with minimal enough play to keep the connection constant. The click sound is barely audible and the resistance to pulling isn't as robust as it is with a new plug, but again, it's adequate and functional. There are other repair clips that grab onto the cable and extend a clip over the plug. They are also rated for Cat 5 and 6 cable. Maybe they will expand enough for a Cat 8 or maybe they will need to be kept in place by a cable tie on larger Category cables. I haven't tried those yet, because my plug insulation has a rubber extension that arches over the clip to help press it down and keep it from bending back too far. This also makes installing this intact plastic repair clip impossible without cutting it at the groove and separating the narrow, shorter arms at the front of the repair clip from the bulk of the unit as I described above. Using a repair clip that grabs onto the cable might require that the arching rubber arm be cut to get it out of the way, but that shouldn't be too difficult and the new overlay unit with its extended clip would perform the same function. But again, that's all hypothetical because I haven't tried one of those. I got a small bonus from my bag of what is supposed to be 50 repair clips. My bag had 51. At first I was incredulous that such a small bag could hold 50 clips, but I was not only wrong, it was holding 51. Thanks for the extra! So, the bottom line is, don't be afraid to try this on an RJ 45 plug with a Cat 7, 8 or 9 cable. While there is extra shielding on the RJ45 plug, the front end dimensions are essentially the same so it should fit. You will likely be able to get it to work with a little alteration and finesse. Competing manufacturers should design alternative versions of this product that are adapted to the larger and more recent, better shielded and insulated, higher numbered Category cables and plugs on the market that will only become increasingly dominant in the marketplace as they become necessary to handle higher bandwidth and speed. That way, customers won't have to make changes to make it work. It's a market niche waiting to be filled. The first well designed product that gets to market is going to sell very well. Make it happen!

Great quality, cost efficient, and extend life span of cable clip use.
These are perfect. I have to cut down the little bump so it goes into my ports, but other than that they help so much. I've had Ethernet cables outlast their clip lifespan with these. Thank you so much. They don't fit onto just any cable though, some cables are just weirdly made, but that's okay. Just buy the cables that can match with this.

Avg quality, Breaks easily
I recently tried the Construct Pro RJ-45 Easy Plug Repair for Cat5e, and while it has some useful features, there are a few areas where it could be improved. Here are my thoughts: Pros Quick and Easy Repair: This product offers a convenient solution for repairing broken RJ-45 plugs. The repair piece snaps into place on the damaged plug, restoring its ability to be inserted and extracted from a jack 1. This saves time and effort compared to replacing the entire cable. Economical: It's a cost-effective alternative to replacing broken RJ-45 patch cables. With a pack of 50, you get good value for the price 1. Versatile: The clear plastic design matches any color or type of RJ-45 plugs, making it suitable for various setups 1. It works for both Cat5e and Cat6 cables, which adds to its versatility. Cons Durability: While the repair piece is easy to use, it doesn't always hold up well under frequent use. I've noticed that it can become loose or break again if the cable is handled frequently 2. This limits its effectiveness for cables that are regularly plugged and unplugged. Fit and Finish: The repair piece sometimes doesn't fit perfectly on all RJ-45 plugs. It can be a bit finicky to get it to snap into place securely 2. This can be frustrating, especially if you're in a hurry. Limited Instructions: The user manual included with the product is quite basic. More detailed instructions or tips for ensuring a secure fit would be helpful 1. Conclusion Overall, the Construct Pro RJ-45 Easy Plug Repair for Cat5e is a decent product that provides a quick fix for broken RJ-45 plugs. However, its durability and fit could be improved. It's a good option for occasional repairs, but for cables that are frequently used, you might need a more robust solution.

Salvage all your broken ethernet cables!
Had over a half dozen ethernet cables with broken retention tabs... this fixed them all! They really nailed the design: these little adapters fitted up with every RJ45 plug I tried, to make a good-as-new ethernet cable. Nice!

Easiest Fix
I brought this because I broke the top plastic tab of the lan cable. The install was just a simple clip on. All in all, a great product.

Working in I.T. I can confirm this is the thing you don't know you need until you have used one. Now I couldn't travel to site without a bag of them.

Truly a life saver!
These work like a charm to repair Ethernet cable jacks with broken tabs! I was getting frequent disconnections with the broken cable hanging on for dear life to the computer, but with these repair tabs, the cable clicks in nice and firm like it was a new cable again!

Essential to have
Does exactly as described, kept the cable secure after clipping on. Far cheaper than buying a new cable every time a clip breaks, especially on very long cables running 25M+ where replacing the cable isn't just a cost issue but time as well.
