Only plant while the roots "cure" themselves Indoor and you notice growth and abundance of leaves. Then you have to dig a big hole and fill it with fill dirt and some tree shrub dirt,, and a little tree fertilizer (NO MIRACLE-GRO BRAND) so that the roots can grow strong enough to crash through the clay. I SAY ABOUT 2 FOOT DEEP 3 AROUND; but plant in June with no cold. So order the tree in may so you can nurture them inside like a regular House plant, so that the roots can "mature". So regular fill dirt from lowes or home depot in a gallon pot should be good. Cost for dirt like 5 dollars a bag. No miracle grow stuff because you will kill it. And no cold, because it will die. ALL OF MINE PLANTS DIED. I gave one to my dad and he sent me what I told you. His is barley growing. Needs lots of tlc. Could of been my batch or the cold. We are ecstatic as we haven't had much luck lately with amazon buys. ### ⭐ Tree *by J***Y on November 7, 2024* Did not grow lol ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Received 5 in just 4 days *by L***L on July 30, 2020* These 5 "twigs" were well packaged, shipped 1st class and received just 4 days from when I ordered. They look viable in that they have some color. It rained today so I put them in a jar with 6" of fresh rainwater because I've been told that plants like that better than well water or tap water. I do plan to give updates in 2 or 3 weeks. When I lived in northern Arizona, these were such a welcome source of shade, and I learned they require less water than other types of willow. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how they do here in southern Indiana. Update: August 1st. Just 2 days later and all 5 are showing small little sprouts!
