Kai Pure Komachi 2 Steak Knife Set

These knives are great, especially for the price paid. I bought them to replace some old wooden handled dull knives I had for years since I was hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year. I didn't want to spend a fortune as I am too lazy to hand wash knives, so if they get ruined in the dishwasher I can replace them without worrying about how much I paid. The knives are super sharp as I have cut myself on them more than once-my fault. They are comfortable to use and cut through everything really well. My only complaint is that the handles are a bit larger than I expected and therefore they take up quite a bit of room in my utensil organizer. I ended up getting a new one to accommodate these and some chef's knives (same brand) that I was given as a gift.

I've been using these knives for years. The non-stick coating does eventually flake off and we somehow managed to lose them, so I have rebought them twice. They are super sharp and the best for cutting things like onions and tomatoes. I use them for almost all my cutting other than carrots and potatoes for which I use a non serrated knife.

These are some awesome knives! After purchasing the Pure Komachi2 kitchen set, I realized how wonderful these are. They are by far the best knives I have ever had. So I decided to purchase these steak knives to complete the set and I am so pleased I did. These knives cut through steak like butter ... no more struggling for me. Great buy at a reasonable price. Highly Recommended! (as well as the kitchen set) Will update review if an issue arises but so far so good after 4 months. Looks just as good today as the day I received them. 2 thumbs up!

We have used our original ones for years and they are still as good as they were when new. "Someone" (hubby) doesn't pay attention when he throws things away and several of knives have disappeared over the years. I was thrilled to find these at Amazon and especially thrilled at the cost. They are worth more than they sell for.

I purchased this some time in December and used these almost immediately. I have had several knives in the past and they all were okay and nothing special. The first time using this I was thinking wow I need to get more on hand. These cut the meat like it was nothing and if you have someone older in your family that has issues with their hands, then I would say to consider these highly. I know of a person who has a very hard time cutting his meal and these knives were a blessing to have for him to use. Now as far as recommending these I say YES ! You will not be sorry as these are very sharp and do the job great.

Review for the KAI steak knives: Seems like lots of reviews for the other Pure Komachi2 line, but not many for the steak knives, so here goes. These are excellent for the price. They are very non-traditional in appearance but feel good in the hand and are very sharp. It's hard to tell in photos, but like other Pure Komachi knives, these have a non-stick paint coating on the sides. The steak knives are grey which is less "in your face" than the other brightly colored knives in the line, but again contribute to their non-traditional appearance. The handles are black plastic and are nearly identical to the handles on the PK2 paring knife. While I prefer non-serrated steak knives, these cut very well and do not tear meat but slice cleanly and efficiently. The serrations are single bevel (meaning one side of the knife is flat all the way to the edge) and this may contribute to their cutting qualities. Definitely worth it for under $20. I'd much rather watch my kids learn how to cut correctly with these than with an expensive set of Shun knives that I knew I would need to hone after every meal.

WASH WELL BY HAND , CUT STEAK AND MEATS VERY WELL WITHOUT CUTTING ME , I AM WELL FAMILIAR WITH THE KERSHAW NAME AND NOW WITH KAI USA AS I HAVE BOUGHT SIX MORE OF THEIR KNIVES ... THE ORIGINAL KAI USA Pure Komachi2 Steak Knife Set, 4-Piece SET I BOUGHT A LONG TIME AGO WERE USED BY FRIENDS WHO CAN OVER AND I AM BUYING THIS SET TO GIVE TO A FRIEND WHO SO APPRECIATED USING ONE HERSELF .. ALL PEOPLE HERE FOR THE DINNER HAS POSITIVE COMMENTS AND PRAISE FOR THEM !!!

I was leery, BUT the KAI USA Pure Komachi2 Steak Knives WORK VERY WELL. Not High-end, high-priced knives, but for the price, these work VERY WELL! And, my elderly mother, who preferred her 40 year old steak knives to the ones that I got with a high-end knife set, LOVES THESE, so, me the cook and she, the very finicky diner are all very happy with these knives! Highly Recommend!
