Saw this camera reviewed by somebody on YouTube, was stunned at the price for the features this little unit offers. No, it is not a Hero-whatever-Black, but that's a good thing. Oh, you actually LIKE spending a few hundred dollars on a camera that freezes repeatedly and dumps that sweet shot you'll never pull off again in your lifetime, and is small enough to get lost in a heartbeat? Cool, the line for Juicero is right over there, make sure you get in on that too! This little bugger isn't perfect, but if you've always wondered what all the hype was about with action cameras, but couldn't justify FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a tiny video camera, this camera is a wonderful entry point to the field. It's all about balance and compromise sometimes, but this camera brings some top tier features to what used to be the bottom-of-the-barrel price point. 4k at 30fps (higher framerates if you fall back in resolution of course), as well as some pretty good stabilization and even timelapse and slo-mo features! Battery life is not too bad, about 90 minutes of recording time at high resolution and framerates, but the batteries are tiny and cheap. Two batteries and a charger came with the camera, and I got another pair of batteries for way less than $20. Again, it's all about compromise; you're not going to get 5 hours of run time out of cells this size. The video quality is seriously good for such a small package! Now, I also have a Google Pixel 6 Pro, and while it's true the video output from the phone is pretty far above what this camera can do, the fact remains that I will never take my phone out snorkeling, kayaking or canoeing, and definitely won't strap it to the top of my car for an interesting road trip timelapse, either! I'm really looking forward to having a durable little all-weather action cam with us to capture whatever interesting things we might see on our coming adventures!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great action camera for the price! The AKASO V50X records clear 4K videos, has good stabilization, and is very easy to use. I love that it comes with accessories and the waterproof case makes it perfect for vacations, swimming, and outdoor adventures. A great affordable option that works really well!

I bought two of these for $85 each when I saw the lightning deal. I do have some experience with older GoPros but these are the first relatively modern action cams with WiFi, touch screen, 4k resolution etc. that I have used. Here are my impressions: The bad: So far I haven't gotten any usable audio recordings. This hasn't been much of a problem for me yet but at some point I may be. I ordered the external mic but have yet to receive it. The battery life has been disappointing. It meets my expectations when shooting video but I expected more standby time for taking pictures and longer life while making time lapse videos. The touch screen user interface does work pretty well and would probably be fine for someone with small hands but I find that it requires a bit of concentration with my big clumsy man hands. That said, I think it works about as well as can be expected for a 2" screen. Also, I think some small improvements could make these much less fragile. Some simple changes like covers for the Micro SD slot + cord inputs and case protrusions around the perimeters of the lens and screen would go along way toward preventing incidental damage while outside of the protective case. The good: For this price point I am pleased with the quantity of features and resolution options. It will take more experimentation to learn how to utilize them better but so far all of them seem functional. After other reviewers claimed that 128GB data cards were working for them I tried and found the same. I have used both 64 gig and 128 gig Samsung EVO select microSDXC cards with good results. The reviews for use of WiFi via the RoadCam app were so bad that I had really low expectations but I have found it to work as claimed. It doesn't allow you to setup the camera variables or do any sort of editing but I'm fine with that. After getting the camera setup through it's own interface the app will show what the camera is seeing and allow starting and stopping of recording or shooting of still photos and review of those photos and/or video and allow them to be deleted or cropped. That's all I was expecting and it works for me on my cheap Motorola G5+ Android phone. As I write this I'm shooting a sunrise time lapse video while the camera is powered by an external battery pack. All in all I'm satisfied so far.

I got the Akaso V50x for our family holidays and also our upcoming Christmas Ski Trip. Akaso is simply the best pick for what’s available in the market for this budget price range. It offers the most and value for your money. The included package comes with a bag of accessories that have all the mountings that you’ll need to get started with. Additionally it comes with 2 batteries and a duel charger. You won’t find these free bundles from other action cameras in the market. The V50x is a big improvement over previous Akaso models. It’s got a nice size touch screen and easy to navigate user interface. The outdoor photos and video quality under good sunlight are awesome and is better than many other high end action cameras, but when under low light conditions the V50x still suffers the same poor quality that all action cameras does. Under low light I consider the V50x perform average or slightly above average. What you’ll find above in all the true gem of this camera is the image stabilization functions. The image stabilization is top notch and probably only the GoPro Hero Black 6 or above can top it. Under good outdoor sunlight condition the superior image stabilization will perform at its best and in fact outperform many others above its price range. The V50x does have its downside, the audio sound quality captured is simply horrible or couldn’t be heard. You can probably boost up the recorded audio a bit after using your video editing software but the out of the box functionality is simply horrible. Akaso does offer an external microphone and it does improve the audio quality significantly and resolve this inadequacy, but this is far from desire and I did contact Akaso and they did reply that a newer upcoming firmware later will fix this audio flaw. Although the image stabilization is the gem of this product however it does perform inconsistently under different mode. It performs at its best under 4K 30fps mode but only average in 1080p 60fps. It is not available at all for 2K video or at the higher 1080p 90fps mode which would be my preference to record for most situation. Nevertheless none of these does stop me from loving this action camera. The Akaso V50x is simply the BEST $100 action camera for amateurs to intermediate users and you’ll not be disappointed.

The AKASO V50X has become my favorite riding companion for capturing the beautiful landscapes and adventures along the way. The video quality is absolutely spectacular. Whether I am filming in native 4K at 30fps, 2.7K at 30fps, or using the smooth 2K at 60fps, it captures the vibrant colors of the trees, skies, and trails in stunning ultra HD. What I appreciate most while riding is the built-in Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). E-bikes can get moving pretty fast, and trails can get bumpy, but this clever feature completely smooths out the vibrations, leaving me with steady, professional-looking footage of my journeys. The design is incredibly user-friendly, too. The intuitive touch screen is bright and simple to navigate, which is wonderful when I want to quickly adjust settings on the fly. I also love the adjustable view angle; I can set it to a super-wide angle to capture a sweeping valley view, or narrow it down to focus on the trail ahead. Battery life is another huge plus. It comes with two rechargeable 1350mAh batteries that provide up to 180 minutes of recording time. That is more than enough power to cover my longest rides without worrying about running out of juice halfway through a scenic route. For any fellow senior adventurers looking to document their outdoor travels, the AKASO V50X is a reliable, high-quality, and incredibly fun camera to have mounted on your handlebars or chest mount.

I have a small YouTube channel that started 9 months ago with a Yi Lite action camera. From that statement you should be able to tell that I'm cheap and I shied away from spending many hundreds on a camera for a channel that may never go any where. After I lost days of audio on the Yi camera when it disabled the mic for some unknown reason, I knew I needed to change cameras. That's when I bought my first V50X. Yes, my first. I now have 2 V50X cameras and use both to capture multiple camera angles for my videos. Do that with Go Pro cameras and you'd go broke. I added the Akaso external mic and that's when my video quality improved to the point that my viewers made comments about the improved audio. That's a great feature of the V50X is its ability to use the external mic, although so far I've only been able to get the Akaso microphone to work. Still, most all other cameras at this price don't offer anything but their internal mics and that limits many recording situations as far as quality audio goes. The video quality on the V50X is outstanding and the image stabilization is top notch. I accidentally disabled the image stabilization feature recently and the video was difficult to watch with lot of movement. With stabilization turned on, videos are smooth and even walking can look great. I barely use my Gimbal anymore because of how buttery smooth the recordings are using the V50X. The accessory set that the V50X comes with is great especially the dual batteries, battery charger and the waterproof case. All in all, this camera is an excellent value for the low cost and I recommend it to other vloggers. UPDATE: It's now September of 2020 and I've been successfully using my 2 Akaso V50X cameras to film all of my Youtube videos. My channel has modestly grown and one of the reasons for its success is that my video & audio quality improved once I started using the Akaso cameras. The biggest part of that improvement was the external microphone that the V50X uses - Youtube viewers will tell you that the audio is more important than the video and I believe that! If you want to shoot 1080P at high frame rates (up to 90fps) or 4K video and you don't want to spend the high prices on GoPro cameras, the Akaso V50X is for you. After many months of use, I would recommend this camera to everyone!

I have only had my new AKASO V50x for a couple of days, but I am enjoying playing with it…… Partly because it is so easy and intuitive to use. I have had the AKASO V50 Pro for about 9 months, and it has been frustrating. The V50x is a huge improvement. The touch screen responds smoothly and reliably (which the Pro never has.) Funny thing…. I noticed that the touch screen works fine with the screen protector that came on it still in place. I think I’ll leave it on! The menu system is much improved. It is so nicely laid out and easy to navigate that I really have not had to read the manual, except to learn some details about new features. In addition, the new buttons really help the user friendliness. The Pro has only two buttons. The X has a Mode/Power button on the front, which when pressed briefly takes you directly to a menu page where you can quickly choose one of 9 modes. Some of the new modes are very cool (more on that later.) There is a shutter button by itself on the top, so you don’t get confused as to which one you are on without looking. On the side are an up and down button used for navigation and turning on and off the Wi-Fi. The result is much simpler and more direct control of the camera. Two really nice features of the Up/Down buttons are, you can fast forward or rewind when playing back video, and Zoom the image when recording Video or Photos! A really nice feature not found on most cameras. I did notice the manual says it will zoom to 4x, but mine only goes to 3.1x. Also, if you zoom while recording video, you do hear the button snap on the recording. It might be best to set the zoom before you begin recording. I tested the video and photo quality in various lighting conditions, and I feel the picture is much better than the Pro. The color rendition is more accurate, and the exposure level looks just right. The Pro seemed over exposed and too ‘contrasty,’ making a harsh looking picture. Changing the EV is awkward on the Pro, and is only available in large increments. If you do wish to change the EV on the X it is easily done in small increments. An important feature for me is the Image Stabilization, since I take in-flight video from my airplane. The Stabilization is much better on the X, plus it has the additional option of Gyroscope, which really cuts down on jiggle or blurring from vibration or quick movements. This is a big improvement. Driving Mode works great and is set up so the camera will come on and record when external power is applied, but not when you operate the power button. So you can leave it in Driving Mode, but still turn the camera on and off manually without recording unwanted video. Cool! The recorded Audio is better on the X than the Pro as well. Other new features are Slow Motion which works very smoothly and is a neat effect, Time Lapse in both Video and Photo modes, and a “Still Photo” mode which takes a still photo at intervals of your choosing while recording video. Another handy thing…. When you plug it into your computer via USB, a screen pops up giving you the options of charging, using it as a PC camera, or an external USB drive on the computer for watching or transferring files. No need to search the menus. I also like the new display. It shows all the information regarding the modes and setting you are in, recording time elapsed and remaining, and a tools button. And, unlike my Pro, the Remote works! It works consistently at 23 feet (I measured) and has just two buttons, Video and Photo. It works on Wi-Fi, where the Pro used RF, so you had to go into the menu and turn RF on and Wi-Fi off, or vice-versa to use the app. But the remote on the Pro just simply never works beyond 3 feet, and seldom works closer. Okay, so I usually don’t rant on so in my reviews, but I am a picky guy, so I was able to find a couple of things to complain about: Two minor things are, it came poorly packaged from AKASO Direct, and the plastic display box was broken ( no apparent damage to the goods.) And the internal speaker is crappy, but who cares about that? I do have two real complaints: There is still no Upside Down mode, and no mounts are provided which allow you to mount the camera from above. Most any windshield mount for a car mounts that way (you can’t make it stick to a dashboard) and for my flying, almost all the time it has to be mounted hanging down. I will have to get creative and make a few mounts of my own to hang it right side up from above. And, come on you guys, no Lens Cover? Geeze, why don’t most action cameras have a simple plastic cap to protect the lens when not in use? The glass on the lens protrudes past the rim, so if you lay it facing down, it will immediately get scratched. Please, hold off on a couple of the many mounting gadgets and give me a lens cover! So, overall I am very pleased with the V50x, and look forward to getting some nice in-flight and other videos when the weather improves. It is certainly a huge improvement over my frustrating Pro, and works like a charm in every way I’ve tried it.

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to a GoPro for our family vacation to Costa Rica. For the most part, I was very pleased with it. PROS: Easy to use. Image stabilization worked great-when it worked. Accomplished the mission. Max settings resulted in very vivid, crystal clear video. I didn’t even use the special under-water setting as normal was good enough. CONS: After formatting the micro-sd card per the manual, I captured a bunch of footage. Then out of the blue, a message popped up saying the card needs to be formatted. This was a little shocking. I chose to roll the dice and keep filming instead of losing my footage.... For the first half of the trip, I chose medium resolution settings to get decent footage while not draining card space. This was a mistake- the footage was very grainy and yellow-tinted. For the second half of the trip I filmed everything on max settings, which came out great. The stand/selfie stick mounting hole on the bottom of the camera is far off to one side, throwing the center of gravity off, which can be a little awkward. This problem goes away if you buy an accessory pack as the water-proof case mounts in the center. Speaking of... If you plan on using this in muddy or wet conditions, the camera is not water proof. You will need a case, which means you won’t be able to record any audio while it’s in it. My brother in law had the newest water proof Hero and was able to record audio, so I was a little bummed out about that. I highly recommend buying an accessory pack along with the camera. Be warned though, most if not all packs have a very cheap flimsy selfie stick. I chose to buy a higher-end selfie stick with a built in tripod, remote, and universal smart phone holder from Blitzwolf, and that was probably the best decision I made as for planning my trip. Over all I recommend this camera because it is a great budget alternative compared to the more expensive ones on the market.

Tiene buena resolución y un ángulo muy amplio, la estoy ocupando para grabar viajes en mi vehículo. Grabar durante en día con ella resulta genial, el problema son las escenas o grabaciones durante la noche, se aprecia mucho ruido o granulación en la grabación. Por todo lo demás bien.

I have used this mostly for my bike rides and in the waterproof casing. I can say the stability is good and video quality (4k@30) is very decent. The wide angle pictures have come out great and is a very useful feature to capture scenery and the likes when your on rides. The buttons and UI are easy to use and simple. The mic although is awful, i could still hear my bikes exhaust in the videos but ofcourse not so clearly. Maybe without the case it will sound clearer though the wind blast can make it bad. I have yet to test it without case as I’m scared of water going in and rendering it useless (still monsoons in india). For the price i’d say go for it as a first action cam to test your own skills and then maybe spend on the more expensive gopros once you’ve got the hang of using an action cam.
