When you get a few gaps in letters, you know you have just a few lines of script left before you can write no longer. There is only one other thing, in my experience, that can make this pen write poorly: oil. When I use them to make a note on my hand (yeah, I'm one of those, at least when I catch myself with a paperless thought...) the oil from my skin gives them pause. It takes a short scribble session on a scrap piece of paper to get them going again. The same thing can happen if I am working with a single sheet of paper over an extended period of time and building up hand oil on the paper by spinning the paper and writing a cloud of though in different directions wherever I can fit things in. I have oily skin. This may not be a problem for you at all. If it is, these are still the best (cheap) pens made. Perhaps by that same magic, these pens are very forgiving in the laundry. One of my previous favorites was the Pilot Precise series. They were a proud predecessor with liquid ink instead of gel. Leave one in your pocket as your pocket goes into the wash, and you will lose most if not every garment in the load. The G2s seem to shut themselves off. The first few times I found one rattling around as I transitioned clothes to the dryer, my heart jumped, but no damage was done. Results may vary.
