Polar S1 Foot Pod

I purchased the foot pod to work with my FT80 to help with motivation and tracking while training for a 5K. Due to my tardiness in ordering I received it the day before the event but decided to use the event as a trial for the unit. As I crossed the finish line I looked at the mileage it had recorded and saw 3.2 miles. Not bad! After using it for a month my assessment is pretty favorable as I have found the unit adds to my motivation. Pros: Motivation Works on treadmill and road Fairly accurate Can not feel it Cons: Accuracy is different on treamill versus the road. (I'm guessing my stride is a little different - New to regular running at 38!) Overall, I would recommend this to people who are new to running and want a little motivation. Especially if they are going to run both on the treadmill and road. Probably not for the serious veteran runner, but I will let you know when I get there!

I really haven't had the opportunity to use this running yet because just a few days after buying and receiving my ft80 watch, I had a back injury and am now waiting on surgery. I have used the footpod a few times for short walking distances with the back injury....once was .8 miles, and the other two were .5 and .3 (all of these are tenths of a mile....yea, the back injury sucks). The foot pod works great.......the distances seem about right even without calibration and it is pretty small and weighs practically nothing. I havent ran the battery down yet and mine seems to auto shutoff as soon as it loses connection to the phone (i.e. you stop an exercise). Will be glad when I can finally use it for a full workout.

I bought this S1 Footpod for use with my Polar FT60, and have had no problems after (3) outdoor runs and (2) indoor runs. This S1 is technically designed for use where the G1 (gps based footpod) doesn't have satellite connectivity. On the (3) outdoor runs, this recorded to my Polar FT60 with absolutely no problems. And the distance accuracy was within approximately a quarter block in distance compared to me GPS recorded RunKeeper statistics. On the (2) indoor runs, this was almost identical to the distance reported by the treadmill I was using. I've only had one briefly moment that the FT60 prompted me to check my S1 Footpod, and even during that time it was functioning promperly. It is easy to attach to your shoe, and I don't even notice once I start my runs. I really enjoy the added data, this unit provides me.

Nice to have, hard to sync

hi i have bought 2 heart rate monitors and foot pods from Amazon, unfortunately the last foot pod i received does not work. This is really disappointing as the logistic to send it back is huge as i am in South Africa. This is sad that suppliers do not check the items before sending them. i am now stuck with a broken unit as i have unfortunately already thrown away the packaging. regards

I liked this for awhile to track my steps and runs. It was hooked up to polar watch and heart rate monitor so it was great that it all went together. But sometimes my watch didn't pick up the steps. Also, there is a lot of new gear available by Nike or Fitbit where you don't need multiple pieces or it is built into the shoe.

out of the box without calibrating it was very close. I wanted to find a device that would not required my phone. I can run longer than my iphone battery, When I bought the Polar RS300X watch I thought it would do mileage. It is expensive but works well. I would probably buy a watch that had gps built in but this watch works well. I have the heart strap so the watch has many settings so you can view heart rate zone,pace, and miles all on one screen. It is big but you do not feel it you just have to answer questions about what the heck is that on your foot?

At first I was a little hesitant with the size of the sensor however once I got it set up on my shoe and went for a run I didn't notice it. I was torn between the foot sensor or the gps and am very glad I went with the sensor. I am able to use it both indoors and outdoors without a problem. Setting it up with the FT60 was very easy and as I run, it shows in real time my pace, gps does not do that. Knowing my pace has been helpful in training for various races as I learn to pace myself and not go to fast. After each run, it will display your average pace as well as your max pace, in addition to distance.

Ofrece estadísticas interesantes sobre velocidad/distancia/ritmo en carrera. Muy cómo y sencillo de utilizar, resiste (al menos en mi caso) la lluvia bien, aunque no he probado a sumergirlo en agua como tal.

Das Teil habe ich mir trotz Skepsis bestellt. Diese wich auch nicht wirklich, als ich das Teil das erste Mal in den Händen hielt. So etwas am Fuss beim Laufen ? Kann das wirklich gewollt sein ? Ich habe es dann ausprobiert. Ob man es glauben will oder nicht, nachdem ich ein paar Minuten auf meiner üblichen Laufstrecke unterwegs war, habe ich das Teil nicht im Geringsten mehr gespürt. Vielmehr war es so, dass ich immer wieder mal ungläubig schauen musste, ob ich es nicht etwa verloren habe. Das Zusammenwirken mit meiner Polar FT80 funktioniert stets reibungslos und zuverlässig. Wenn man sich ein wenig Mühe gibt und das Teil zuverlässig kalibriert, dann hat man damit wirklich lange Freude und zuverlässige Daten. Nicht zu schweigen von den zusätzlichen Daten, die die Nutzung des Laufsensors S1 bei den Online-Auswertungen noch parat hält. Ich habe den Laufsensor mittlerweile fast ein Jahr und keinerlei Probleme. Mittlerweile haben in der Familie auch all diejenigen das Teil und sind begeistert, die vor einem Jahr noch der Meinung waren es sei "uncool" :-)

気になった重量は全然重くはありせんでした。 簡単にシューズの紐に取り付けられるし、かなり速く走っても蹴っても外れることはないですね。 最近紐がないシューズもあるのでそれには付けられませんが・・・ 私は地下足袋でもたまに走るのですが、カッターで4か所穴を作れば地下足袋にも取り付けられました。 GPSとどちらを買おうか迷いましたがこちらの方がだいぶ値段が安いのでお得ではないかと・・・
