Prime-Line C 1033 Diecast Keyed Patio Sliding Door Handle Set for 1 In. to 1-1/8 In. Thick Sliding Glass Doors, Black (Single Pack)

Fit my basic sliding glass door. Latch is plastic, will be ok if used correctly but not likely to last in the rental property. Not sure I would buy again if I could find a better option.

I live in a high rise condo on Miami Beach. So the salt air is hard on just about everything. It was time to replace the hardware on my sliding balcony door. The condo is about 35 years old and it was obvious the door pull/latch had previously been replaced/repaired. The local sliding door company wanted almost 250 bucks to replace the latch. Found this latch on Amazon and all the measurements/pictures matched up with what currently was on the door. With a few exceptions, this went right on. I had to do a little grinding with the Dremel tool since the previous person who serviced the door boogered up some of the fitting surfaces. The kit comes with two sets of mounting bolts (short and long). My door needed medium. So I had to trim the long bolts with the Dremel tool. After these few little alterations and the latch fit like a glove. The latch mechanism was tight and worked smoothly. Well worth the price. No complaints. It comes with a keyed outside locking mechanism but I didn't need it (30th floor balcony), so I can't comment on that piece.

The lock when I installed feels loose n wobbly n gets me sketched out! I wish It was made with the lock on it already

Measurements shown were exact. Perfect fit and looks great. High quality and only took minutes to install. My slider has a little more depth, so I just reused my longer machine screws. Would definitely buy again.

The Prime-Line C 1033 Diecast Keyed Patio Sliding Door Lock is a complete waste of money. The lock feels cheap and flimsy, and the installation process was a nightmare. The instructions are poorly written and unclear, making it difficult to attach properly to my sliding door. Once installed, the lock barely functioned. The key mechanism sticks, making it frustrating to lock and unlock, and the lock itself feels like it could be forced open with minimal effort. This product does not provide the security it promises and left me feeling uneasy about the safety of my home. Additionally, the diecast material is of poor quality and began to show signs of wear and rust within a couple of weeks. I would not trust this lock to secure anything. Do yourself a favor and invest in a higher-quality patio door lock—it’s worth the extra money for peace of mind.

I mean, it’s a sliding door lock. It does what it says but, I got to admit it is a little flimsy. I installed it but needed to move it a little higher so it would seal the door hole (there was like a 1mm sticking out). I took it off and the locking mechanism came out fine but upon reinstalling it the locking mechanism decided to loosen the push in tooth. I tried putting it back in but it wouldn’t stick, I installed it anyways with it as it was but didn’t really work. So the locking mechanism now comes off and it’s annoying. So yeah it’s pretty flimsy but if you get it on the first try and don’t mess with it, I except that it should last a bit. I didn’t really ask for a refund for it, I just bought another one. Because overall I mean it does what it does and it works… for how long I will be back to let you know.

This handle set worked like a charm. Extremely easy to install and set the latch, less than 10 minutes. I did not install the exterior lock portion. The item pics showing the dimensions helped me understand the handle set would fit my door without having to cut or modify existing hole.

Poor made item where key snapped in lock immediately so now worthless. Not the sellers fault, just a rubbish design where I might just replace the U.S. made doors on my boat instead.

Be sure to order the correct model for your door by checking the specs and you’ll get an exact copy of original door hardware. Works like a champ!
