The only upgrades have been safety features and lighting and such. They offer different motors as well. Yet, I have this unit on a 2016 3500 6.0L V8 and it is fantastic and fit perfectly. It should fit yours fine :) **Q: does it fit a 2001 grand cherokee??** A: No. This is built to fit a Chevrolet express van. **Q: Will it fit a Law Enforcement package? Tahoe has a steel bar inserted into frame rails.** A: I bought the curt 14090 hitch for my 2005 chev express van. I doubt that it will fit a Tahoe.
