I have used the Seat Solution cushion for the last 7 years and I can say the cushion really has reduced my back pain.About 7 years ago, my wife came home with one of the above mentioned cushions and said that it might help my back. At the time, I was willing to try anything, in attempts to reduce my back pain. I had a bulging disc in the lumbar region (L4 & L5) for the last 15 years. Ask anyone who has a bulging disc and they will tell you that any relief is welcomed relief! I tried the cushion and I can say that it really did help reduce the pain in my back by reducing the pressure on my tailbone (S1 & S2). In fact, I was impressed enough to buy another cushion as a spare.It does have a great design. The cushion has pleather (plastic leather) on top and fabric material on the bottom. Getting in and out of the car's drivers seat seems to be the pass or fail test for any cushion I have used. With the pleather side up, it allows me to easily slide in and out of the driver's seat. The pleather is stain proof and is easily cleaned. The bottom side is made of a fabric that kind of keeps the cushion in place, at least on my fabric covered driver's seat it does. The fabric side can breathe and its better to use this side on a hot summer day in the back yard. The foam inside is not rock hard and it is not all soft and rubbery either. In fact, the foam in the first cushion I had maintained its shape and density, even after 7 years of continual use! The U shape cutout design really does take the pressure off of my tailbone. For a cushion to stand up to a 6 ft, 190 lb. male for that long, that is a great cushion!Unfortunately, the bulging disc ruptured and I am left with quite a bit of nerve damage. Now, I am in continuous nerve pain from the tail bone (S1 & S2), down my backside, all the way across the bottom of my feet. Needless to say, I am forced to take the Seat Solution Orthopedic Seat Cushion everywhere I go. It really has become a necessary part of the items I carry along with me, everywhere I go.I dispose of the first cushion when the pleather cover cracked and broke down, that was the only reason. Butt (Ha!), the cushion inside was still fine, even after 7 years. Not a bad investment, I would say! Unfortunately, I lost the second cushion in an airport terminal. I ordered another cushion as soon as I could and I received it that same week. No, I try not to go without the Seat Solution cushion. I do get frustrated I forget to bring it!So, I am currently using and have used a Seat Solution Orthopedic Seat Cushion for the last 7 years. It really has made all the difference for me. Before my back surgery, the cushion reduced the pain in my back and was nice to have. Now, after the back surgery, I have no choice, I must take this cushion everywhere I go. I probably will get another cushion, as a spare, just in case.~M ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Could be a bit bigger but..... *by M***, on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2014* First off I want to say I am retired, overweight at 262 pounds and I have leg problems. Because of my legs I don't move around very much so I sit in front of my PC or the TV for as long as 18 hours a day, every day!. I don't have major back problems but what I have developed are what is known as 'compression sores' which have made sitting a very uncomfortable pass time. The main problem is centered around the area at the base of the spine commonly referred to as the tailbone. After using this product now for about a month 98% of the pain and discomfort is all but gone. Due to my weight though the cushion is as flat as a pancake by the end of the day although it does puff up a bit overnight it never has returned to its 'new' thickness, yet it still works. Also the size is a bit small. I use a standard size office chair and the this cushion is about 80% the size of the chair so does move around a bit. I find the most comfortable position for me is pull the cushion to the front edge of the chair and make sure my tail bone is over the hole in the back of the cushion with the chair seat tilted back ( surprisingly enough ) very slightly. Also, the cushion has a vinyl side and a cloth side, so unless you like sticking to the chair if you wear shorts, sit on the cloth side. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars My son is happy *by A***J on Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2007* I bought this for my son after hearing that his hard plastic school chairs are so uncomfortable that the homeroom kids fight EVERY DAY for just one chair that is cushioned. I saw that chair on open house night and it was old and the cushion wasn't even very soft. That's just sad. Two other people had brought various orthopedic seat cushions to use, so I started looking for one. I couldn't believe some of the stratospheric prices out there. While I want my child to have a healthy back, we are not rich enough to blow $60 to $80 on a seat cushion. After EXTENSIVE research, I felt that this one would be the best bang for the buck. Is it? Well, my son is quite happy with it, says it makes all the difference in the world. Around $19 all inclusive for years of comfort and saving his young back? I say it's well worth it.
