Sharp from tip to top, even small snips with the tip of the scissors is possible. Easily gets into tight and narrow spaces for detail work. Typically, I use them for paper work. Recently I was doing a project with denim away from home and the scissors I had were too big. Not wanting to bring my first Canary scissors from home, I ordered a different set of less expensive detail scissors. I could not get the tips to snip details in the denim. I returned them and ordered another pair of these Canary scissors and I am so happy I did! I was able to exactingly snip and trim around tight spaces and curves with no problem.As far as size, yes, they are small (says so in the item listing :o) ), but I have not had any problems comfortably holding or cutting with them. That said, I do have smaller hands and fingers, so I cannot speak to the experiences of those with more average size hands and fingers.When I bought my first set, I thought the price was slightly higher than I would initially pay, but they had great reviews, so I spent the money. Even being a bit pricier than other, I had no problem hitting the purchase bar for a second set.
