Smithsonian Eco Dome Habitat with Triops

I bought this for my son and he loved it. He loved placing small insects in the habitats to watch them grow.

This item came in fine, but when my son opened it on his birthday it was terrible. Orange pieces didn't fit on dome bottoms, bottoms were either broken or didn't fit together correctly, main tank didn't stay in place at all. I'm so unsatisfied with this. It wasn't cheap and for the money I was expecting at least for it to come in one piece not broken. I'm returning it and will find something else! This is not worth the money.

Overall, it's good, but hard to connect the tubes.

We cannot get the Triops to hatch and reproduce - or even live. the habitat is OK - easy for the 9yr old to assemble, but the bug catcher has not vacuum quality to really pick up bugs.

I had high hopes for this product but was disappointed within minutes of opening the box. The material are cheaply made. The plastic parts will not fit together securely. Parts were missing from the package. Who would put bugs into a habitat that can't contain them? If you put ants, or any bug in this kit, you will have an infestation in your house. Don't buy this even if the price is reduced to Free.

We bought this toy for our 7-year-old daughter who has an interest in anything science or animal related. It is very cheaply made and we had to use caulk to hold the majority of it together. The concept is very neat but the reality is not. The suction in the bug "vacuum" is non-existent. I expected more from a product with Smithsonian in its name. Now I know to avoid their products!

Ordered as a gift and he was very excited to recieve it. Came in timely manner and in good condition. we have had frogs and crabs in it. workd well
