It's thick and good quality. I love how pretty it is and the black is isn't cheaply looking like I was afraid of. I do have it under a covered porch so it hasn't gotten rained on and well it can't really get wet from where it is so I can't judge on that aspect. It is the rough coconut husk material so if you don't like that I wouldn't get this mat.
