Is the brownish color in lilac dove considered baby sand?

It's sort of a 'taupe' brown. Or, grayish brown. I bought these and made a baby blanket for my grandniece. It's beautiful and soft.

How many of these small skeins do I need for a baby blanket?

Depending on the size I made mine extra large so I used 9 skeins of yarn but for a small size I would say 6 skeins

How much yarn is needed for a baby blanket?

It depends on the needle size, stitch you use and how big you want the blanket to be . I made an adult size blanket; crocheted using a triple stitch and used approximately 8-9 bundles of yarn.
